Hello Colt Families,
We are so grateful for a wonderful first week. In of light of all the steps these 18 months, the students have done this week what kids do; they have listened, trusted, flexed, and began learning in the new school year.
The Head School Nurse Michelle Opferman and her team have prepared this important message for families. Please take a moment to read it, and feel free to contact her with any questions.
Please remember that students younger than high school age must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of all District events and athletic competitions. Students may not be dropped off without a parent/guardian. This includes Friday night football games.
Transportation Information:
- Morning arrival for students being dropped off should take place no earlier than 7:35. Doors are open for arrival between 7:35 am and 7:45 am.
- If your child is riding on the bus, it is federally mandated to wear masks on public transportation. Therefore, all students are required to wear masks on district buses. If you and/or your child are not compliant with these regulations, we ask that you please make arrangements to have the student dropped off and picked up.
- Students are not permitted to ride buses other than the assigned bus.
In the event of school closure due to inclement weather, COVID-19, or other unforeseen circumstances, the District will shift to remote learning via Google Classroom (K-8) and Schoology (9-12), following these guidelines:
- On remote learning days, students must submit their attendance in Infinite Campus between 6:30 am and 12:00 pm or they will be marked absent.
- Students, teachers, and paraprofessionals should follow their schedules synchronously, checking in to each class at the appropriate times, and then working independently on school work as assigned by each teacher.
- If there is a 2-hour delay, schools will operate on a typical in-person 2-hour delay schedule.
- If a 2-hour delay is called and later becomes a full-day closure, students should complete assignments asynchronously to allow teachers ample time to safely travel to school.
The yearbook committee is seeking back-to-school pictures to include in the 2021-2022 yearbook. Please email photos to cvmsyearbook@cvsd.net and include your child's name and grade with the submission.
The middle school will be hosting a Open House for all students and families on Thursday, September 9th from 6:00pm -7:45pm. More information will be announced.
Lifetouch will be on-site for student photos on Sept. 24. Information for placing orders will be distributed shortly.
