Stallions in the Spotlight
The OSU Italian department hosted a “High School Day” in which our Italian AP students were invited to participate in a special Zoom presentation reflecting various aspects of Italian culture like intercultural competence, traveling through Medieval Italy, and Italians in film studies.
SFDTV is partnering with the World Culture Club each month to share the different cultures at SFDHS. In the episode included today, junior Nana Annor teaches a few faculty members Ghanaian dance moves and other students share, “Their Favorite Thing about being Ghanaian.”

Any of 1 the following:
  • Fever (100.4°F or higher)
  • New or worsened cough
  • Loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Nasal congestion or runny nose

Two or more of the following:
  • Headache
  • Body aches
  • New or worsened fatigue
  • Nausea, vomiting or diarrhea

If a household member is being tested for COVID-19, students and siblings must stay home until results are received.

Spring ACT Prep Course 

To help our students prepare for the upcoming ACT tests, we are offering our ACT Prep Course. This course will conclude prior to March 9th when our juniors will take the ACT here at school. It's time for the SFD Mothers Club Valentine Bake Sale!  

Our Valentine’s Day Bake Sale is coming up and we need your help! The sale will be held during all lunch periods on Tuesday, February 9th and Wednesday, February 10th. Popular treats continue to be CAKE POPS, BROWNIES, RICE KRISPIE TREATS, COOKIES, and CHOCOLATE COVERED PRETZELS.

With new COVID precautions, we ask this year that treats be individually wrapped in clear packaging and dropped off by you or your student on the cart in the front lobby the morning of the sale. Please use the link below to sign up to donate or work the sale.

In conjunction with the Bishop Watterson Mothers Club, the St. Francis DeSales Mothers Club is excited to invite all parents, not just SFD moms, to join Bishop Brennan for an Evening of Reflection on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at 7 PM as he speaks on the blessings of a Catholic education. This is a free event but we do ask that you use this link to register.
Virtual Evening Events featuring Women & Diversity
for Students, Parents, & Educators

All invited to enjoy four virtual evenings hosted by Columbus State Community College dedicated to learning more about the experiences of, and opportunities for, women and diverse students in the fields of Technology, Manufacturing, and Logistics. Hear from panels of industry professionals from across Central Ohio as they share their experiences, knowledge, and advice for those getting started. You will also get the chance to participate in a virtual LIVE Q&A segment with the panelists to ensure that any and all of your questions get answered!

Attendees will leave these virtual evening events with a future outlook of the industry and knowledge of how Columbus State's Experiential Learning Programs can help diverse students earn a competitive income while working toward a degree, and beyond. College Scholarship Letters

Seniors are asked to bring a copy of each and every scholarship letter they have received from a college(s) to the Guidance department. Even if your child decides not to attend that college, we still ask for a copy of the scholarship letter. Please have your child bring letters to their Guidance counselor or Mrs. Hoyer in the Student Service Center. This information will be included in the Graduation program, under your child’s name.
We the Students Essay Contest

The Bill of Rights Institute is offering $20,000 in scholarship prizes to 16 student winners. Students looking to participate will need to write a 500-800 word essay answering the question "What is the relationship between Equality and Justice?" The deadline for entry is April 15, 2021 at 11:59PM PT (or 2:59AM ET). Click here for essay rules and regulations.
Janitorial Position Opening

A full-time janitorial position is currently open at St. Francis DeSales High School. Position responsibilities include office, classroom, general space and restroom cleaning. Light maintenance duties are also required.

40 hours per week, 5 hours per day, Monday through Friday, 3pm to 11pm. Daytime hours during the summer and at times when school is not in session. Competitive hourly rate of pay and full benefit package including medical, dental and vision insurance, retirement plan and vacation pay.
