Dear Parents,
Welcome back, we are about to enter the busiest month in several years. Please bear with us as we finalize plans and get information out about our upcoming events.
Next week is Week of the Arts. Thank you to all of the parents who will be coming in over the weekend to transform the hallways for our K-4 students. All of our traditional activities are back with slight modifications. We will have performances on Wednesday and Thursday morning. We will have activities and presentations on Wednesday and Thursday afternoon and we will have our variety show on Friday afternoon. Please remember, due to using all available space and changes in the schedule, there will be NO HOT LUNCH, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday next week.
Next Saturday, May 7, we will have our Bulldog 5K. Thank you Eleanor Hopkins and Athena Myers for volunteering to organize. It is a family event and a good way to teach healthy habits. Please join us for a nice run through Chevy Chase.
The following week, we will be having our Mission Fair. We will be doing Labors of Love and bringing back more of the traditional activities. More information will be coming home next week.
In addition to these activities, we will also be celebrating the sacraments with our Second and Eighth graders this month. Please keep them in your prayers as they celebrate First Confession and Eucharist and are Confirmed.
Remember: Tonight is our Mother Son Jammin’ Fun dance party in the gym.
Faithfully,
Chris Kelly

Uniform Closet Collection
The plants aren’t the only thing growing like weeds this spring. Clean out those too-small uniforms and donate them to the uniform closet! Please bring all your gently-used, school uniform items to the bin outside of the school lobby entrance. And stay tuned: another uniform closet sale coming soon!

Is your fifth grade daughter interested in trying her hand at outdoor adventures like camping - and even tomahawk throwing - and building leadership and entrepreneurial skills next year? If so, Girl Scouts is your answer! Fifth-grade mom Betsy McIntyre has agreed to serve as the primary troop leader for a BSS 6th grade Girl Scout Cadette troop next year (the 2022-23 school year). To make the troop a go, she will need at least two other parent volunteers to help lead the troop - as per Girl Scout policy - to serve as a Troop Money Manager and a Co-Leader (to serve as a second chaperone and assist Betsy). If you are interested in either position, please reach out to Betsy McIntyre at edk2006@tc.columbia.edu by May 15.
