Working Daughters Balancing Elder Care at Breaking Point

The One Thing Caregivers Tend to Neglect

"Many caregivers provide care for four years or more. 'That’s a long time, considering caregivers spend, on average, 24 hours a week doing things for recipients, on top of everything going on in their own busy lives,' says C. Grace Whiting, president and CEO of NAC."

Caregiver Access to Supports and Services
Did you know that 1 in 4 caregivers have a difficult time accessing affordable services to help them with their care in their recipient’s community, such as transportation or in-home health services? According to NAC and AARP's report, Caregiving in the U.S. 2020, caregivers "may find themselves in need of information, resources, benefits, or programs—but these things are often difficult to find or access, or too expensive to afford."

If you're a caregiver and you can relate to this statistic, we encourage you to join a listening session being hosted TODAY from 3:00-5:00 PM EST! Join NAC, SEARAC, the National Asian Pacific Center on Aging, and the Diverse Elders Coalition for Caregiving in a Pandemic: Accessing Services and Supports. This event is made with the support of the John A. Hartford Foundation.

The first 75 participants may be eligible for a $25 thank you gift card!
