National Breast Cancer Coalition's (NBCC) 2021 Virtual Advocate Leadership Summit

Don't miss your chance to join amazing breast cancer advocate leaders from across the country to hear from leading scientists, advocate visionaries, and your peers for networking, plenaries, and interactive workshops - all from your home!

VBCF is excited to announce that this year we have funds available through our Karin Decker Noss Scholarship* to "send" Virginia breast cancer advocates to the 2021 Virtual Advocate Leadership Summit for FREE! We welcome any interested volunteer advocates to apply for this great opportunity! (see details below).

Join with fellow survivors, advocates, and members of the breast cancer community, who are lending their voice and transforming breast cancer research and public policy, and ensuring quality healthcare for all. Exciting plenaries and skill-building workshops will focus on the most critical areas of breast cancer research, science, and public policy. Attendees will have opportunities to network with other breast cancer survivors and advocates, and connect with leading researchers in the field.

The annual Lobby Day will follow the Summit on May 18, when advocates will meet with their elected officials under the leadership of NBCC, about the 2021 legislative and policy agenda. More information about the Summit program.

If you have questions or would like to apply for VBCF's Karin Decker Noss Scholarship to attend the 2021 NBCC Advocate Leadership Summit, please contact Kirsta Millar, VBCF Policy Manager, at kirsta@vbcf.org or 804-285-1200 ext 203. All Scholarship requests must be made by April 30, 2021.

Advocates receiving a Noss Scholarship will be asked to attend as many days of the Summit in "real-time" as possible; participate in Lobby Day, as available, and; share a brief reflection with VBCF about their Summit experience.

*The Karin Decker Noss Scholarship is provided to fund training for participants in medical research and legislative advocacy to carry on the work that Karin Decker Noss, a dedicated board member, and former VBCF president began. This scholarship program aims to encourage increased knowledge and education related to breast cancer resulting in stronger breast cancer advocacy and more involvement in VBCF’s advocacy program.
