The National Farm Medicine Center would like to inform you about an opportunity to publish your research, review, commentary or brief report in the online journal, Frontiers in Public Health. Please distribute this flyer to your colleagues who may be interested in joining an impressive group of authors with papers relevant to our Topic – Safeguarding Youth from Agricultural Injury and Illness: International Perspectives.

AgInjuryNews 2021, by the Numbers |
|
The AgInjuryNews initiative has had another productive year, collecting and coding reports on a daily and weekly basis. Here is a brief summary:
• 504 new case reports added in 2021 spanning 602 victims.
• 309 newly registered users in 2021.
• 3,646 unique visitors in 2021 (excludes internal traffic).
• 19,202 page views in 2021 (excludes internal traffic).

New online community links child farm safety advocates |
|
The Childhood Agricultural Safety Network, or CASN, a coalition of organizations and individuals dedicated to farm safety for children, is introducing a new place (www.childagsafety.org) for members to post and discuss child ag injury incidents, ask questions, chat, and share resources, events, news and announcements. The community offers child agriculture safety strategies, health expertise and collaboration.
Jana Davidson, education content specialist with the Progressive Agriculture Foundation, is excited about the new online community and more frequent contacts among those in the network. “The network of colleagues and supporters it brings together from around the world is also one of the best benefits and resources to being part of CASN. Together, we can provide solutions to problems and tackle emerging issues in farm safety and health to make our ag communities stronger,” she said.

AgInjuryNews Helps Fill the Gap in Injury Reporting |
|
Occupational fatalities in agriculture are well documented and recorded by the federal government, but tracking non-working bystander and nonfatal injuries to farmers, ranchers, workers and their families falls short. Veteran journalist Mystique Macomber interviewed the experts and wrote a story explaining how AgInjuryNews.org helps fill the gap.

Hosted by the Public Health Association of Australia and Co-Sponsored by the World Health Organization, and other key national and international organizations, Safety 2022 aims to bring together the global injury prevention community to continue the successful world conferences highlighting the important research, work and advocacy in injury prevention and safety promotion.
