SPED Puzzle Artwork - FHES Foxes Choose to Include!
When deciding on an idea for a poster to display to promote Special Education Week, we wanted something that would not only catch the eye of everyone who walked by, but something that all of our students could have a part in creating.

Much like puzzle pieces, all of us are unique in our own ways. We think differently, we learn differently, and we play differently, but here at Forest Hill Elementary we all fit together to make a beautiful picture. Foxes choose to include and every day we celebrate the differences of our students by continuing to accept, adapt, and advocate!
Save the Date: FHES Field Day May 5-7!

It’s (virtual) race time!!!

Half of the registration fee goes directly to our school with the other half funding teacher grants. It’s going to be a fun virtual event, and everyone will still get the AWESOME t-shirt!

Upcoming Release of Spring Testing Schedules
Parents will receive details about how each school will complete required state testing. During this year’s Special Legislation Session on Education, The Accountability Hold Harmless Act (SB7001/HB7003) was voted into law.

Districts must meet at least an 80% in-person participation rate for state assessments to remove negative consequences associated with evaluation and accountability.
Germantown Municipal School District is working to accommodate all types of learners (in-person, fully-virtual, and hybrid) to provide a safe environment for the state assessment administration. It is vital that all of our students make plans to participate in the assessments.

At the elementary school level, our administrators have been able to accommodate these specialized schedules without any interruption to family routines. However, at the middle and high school levels, some scheduling changes are required that will include additional virtual days for students.

Our Germantown Board of Education has also crafted this Joint Statement with partnering boards of education in response to the Special Legislative Session.  You can view it here.
