More Accessible Seating at the Missouri Theater
The Missouri Theater now has additional accessible seating for wheelchairs on the orchestra level. When the new sound and light board, a huge investment which enhanced the presentation of all events at the facility for both the performer and the audience, was installed, it reduced the amount of accessible seating in the theater.
The Parks, Recreation & Civic Facilities Department staff recently dismantled two rows of seating in the orchestra level to make room for additional wheelchair seating. Crews leveled the flooring, installed footings and railings so the theater can now accommodate additional wheelchairs for all performances.
Staff looks forward to being able to re-open the theater for full events in the near future and have guests see the improvements.
