Persecution & Promise

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand…For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.”

Isaiah 41:10, 13

Greetings Ministry Partner,

It took a few days to recover from the long trip before heading back to the field. When we were ready to work as usual, we began to contact the churches and our team. The first thing we heard was bad news: the government was being very strict for some reason. The authorities came to check the churches and organizations related to Christianity. They ordered the closure of every house church and prohibited meetings for worship anywhere except in the churches that they approved. As a result, the churches are not comfortable allowing any foreigners to attend Sunday morning services. The persecution in remote areas has increased. However, even in this situation, we heard that there are many new converts and they have been baptized. Many church leaders are interested in joining the CCI program, so new classes may open soon.

As humans, these things very much bother us and make us frustrated, but when we pray and read the Word of God, we don't need to do anything except keep going to serve God and rely on Him. "If God is for us, who can be against us?" (Rom. 8:31)

We appreciate you, your prayers and support.

Staff Update

Pastor S contacted a key person who is the pioneer of the churches in a northwest province, to share about the CCI ministry. One Sunday, he joined us for worship and had lunch with the National Director and Pastor Andrew from Australia. During our conversation, he asked us to open a class at his church. We praise God that Pastor Andrew and the National Director were able to open a new class with 24 students in this area.

New class with 24 students

Pastor S currently continues two CCI classes. However, his church has implemented a policy of not allowing any foreigners to attend the Sunday morning service due to security concerns.

Two CCI classes

Pastor X went to visit churches and held a special service. He promoted CCI, and it is certain that there are some people interested and ready to participate in the class. We are also ready to do so if God opens the door for us.

Pastor K continued to visit the churches, promote the CCI ministry and had the chance to teach new believers before baptizing them.

We desire to have all of our new 61 CCI Coordinators continue to expand throughout 2024. Your generous donation toward our $60,000 matching gift will double the impact of your donation. Reaching this goal will allow CCI to provide $300 monthly to each coordinator’s ministry, travel, and personal needs in 2024.

Will you help support our new Coordinators?

Prayer Requests & Praises

●     Please pray for God to protect our team who go out to reach people for Christ and to teach the classes.

●     Pray for the alumni who have graduated from our program to overcome their fears and be active in their ministries.

●     Pray for Christian families who are facing persecution. Recently, ten families have become homeless as their houses were demolished by local authorities and non-Christians due to their faith.

●     Pray for Pastor X who plans to open two more CCI classes in the northwest and eastern provinces. They need the pastors to commit to be the teacher for each class.

●     Pray for the churches in Laos, especially the house churches. The government is very strict now, not allowing them to meet or engage in any religious activities at places that have not been approved.

●     Pray for our two coordinators, as their funds that support their work, are running out at the end of this year. Please pray for divine intervention and guidance in this matter.

Your prayer and giving is worthy for the Kingdom.
God bless you all.
