Dear AJPM Reader,

Over the last several years, submissions to AJPM have almost doubled, prompting the editors, journal governing board, and publisher to consider the possibility of creating an online-only spin-off journal to complement AJPM. Those discussions have culminated in the launch of the new journal, AJPM Focus, earlier this year.

AJPM Focus is a fully open access journal helmed by editor-in-chief Dr. Yuri T. Jadotte of Stony Brook University Renaissance School of Medicine. While Focus will accept articles on many of the topics published by AJPM, it also differs from, and complements, AJPM in that it accepts a number of article types that are less likely to appear in AJPM, including qualitative research, negative/null studies, pilot data analyses, quality improvement articles, replication studies, and program evaluations, among others.

The world of academic publishing is ever changing, and we are excited to be part of that change with the inauguration of AJPM Focus and the opportunities it represents for AJPM authors and for AJPM itself. I invite you to learn more about AJPM Focus, follow the journal on social media, and consider Focus as the potential publication home for your current and future prevention research.

We hope you find our March 2022 issue to be timely, topical, and informative.

Yours in prevention and health,
