Jacksonville College is open for business, and you are encouraged to join us for Homecoming 2021 on March 20th. As of this writing, guests are expected to honor the CDC COVID-19 pandemic guidelines. College administration will be meeting later this week to review campus policy. You will be provided up to the minute notification through this publication should procedures and policies change.
Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m., alumni and friends have the opportunity to attend the Purple & Gold Breakfast in the cafeteria, hosted by Dr. Mike Smith, president of Jacksonville College. Following the breakfast at 9:00 a.m., basketball coaches and players will be present to greet alumni and guests.
At the 10:00 a.m. gathering in Buckner Chapel, the Jacksonville College Singers will open with musical selections, followed by Dr. Smith and staff reporting on the many blessings enjoyed this year. We are looking forward to introducing our new Vice-President, Dr. Joe Lightner, and welcoming him to the family. Dr. Lightner has been asked to take this opportunity to make a connection with us.
The majority of the business portion of our meeting will be handled via a public posting and e-letter (to be sent out soon).
This year's "Distinguished Alumnus", Rev. James Schoenrock, will be honored after the short business meeting.
The morning's festivities will conclude with a virtual presentation of the "Hallelujah Chorus", our "Alma Mater", and a musical benediction, "The Lord Bless You and Keep You".
No formal chapter luncheons have been planned. However, alumni are encouraged to reconnect and then attend the ballgames.
