New Hampshire Updates
NH Saves is Saved - Last week, Governor Sununu signed HB 549 that restored the NH Saves energy efficiency program prior to the severe cuts implemented by the Public Utilities Commission in November. The bill also provides a mechanism for funding the program going forward. This program provided energy audits and weatherization programs for residential, businesses and municipalities, often with rebates, that helped lower the energy use and bills for many. Vermont Updates
Vermont Rejoins Discover New England - Vermont Department of Tourism & Marketing VDTM announced Friday that after a four-year hiatus, Vermont has rejoined Discover New England (DNE). DNE is a regional destination marketing organization dedicated to promoting international visitation in the New England states. Great news for hospitality and tourism businesses in Vermont. Housing - Regional Needs Assessment Underway
New Hampshire’s business community relies on available housing to maintain growth and prosperity. The Upper Valley Lake Sunapee Regional Planning Commission is launching their Regional Housing Needs Assessment and inviting area employers to weigh in on the issue of housing – both challenges and solutions. This brief survey will provide the region and the state with an accurate picture of regional housing needs and opportunities to move forward. Your voice is important for the future of New Hampshire! Tourism, Hospitality Pros Invited
Tourism/hospitality industry professionals are invited to attend this important event being held on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 from 5-7pm at the Red River Theatres, 11 S Main Street, Concord NH.

The event will open at 5 pm with time to network with your peers, enjoy theatre style food, and a cash bar.

Starting at 5:30 pm Lori Harnois, Director of the NH Division of Travel and Tourism Development and Simon Thompson, Lobbyist of Sheehan Phinney Capitol Group will present industry/legislative updates.
The highlight of the evening will be a moderated roundtable panel discussion about the April 8, 2024 Total Eclipse of the Sun. The Eclipse will happen, and Northern NH will be in full totality and most of NH will be at 95%. This is going to have a major economic impact on the State. This will be a fun and informative event sponsored by our friends at Casella and Red River Theatres.

Community-Based Crowdfunding Program Seeks Project Proposals
The Local Crowd Upper Valley, a community-based crowdfunding program hosted by Vital Communities, invites emerging and established businesses based in the Upper Valley of New Hampshire and Vermont to submit project proposals.

While all for-profits, non-profits, and community initiatives are welcome to apply, projects based in Orange and Windsor Counties of VT will receive extra campaign support and resources — beyond what is currently provided to all The Local Crowd Upper Valley campaigns. Applications are due Monday, March 28 at 5 p.m.

UVYP Rolls Out the Welcome Wagon!
The Upper Valley Young Professionals has partnered with Vital Communities, The Space on Main and Green Mountain Economic Development Corp. to form an Upper Valley chapter of the Vermont Welcome Wagon Project.

The Welcome Wagon project seeks to welcome newcomers to the Upper Valley, share knowledge on where to go and what to do.

Interested in participating? Sign up to be a Host, or if you're a newcomer, sign up to meet a host.
Our mission is to bring together young, emerging, & rising professionals and foster connections in the Upper Valley.

Our goal is to be a resource for 20-40s in the Upper Valley region of VT/NH who are looking to expand their personal or professional networks. We create opportunities for young professionals to connect with one another and with their community.
