Grace and Peace to you in the name of God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Your Standing Committee is grateful for your prayers and for the charge we received from Diocesan Convention to initiate the search process for a Bishop Coadjutor. We want you to know that we are hard at work with this highly important responsibility.
Having received instruction and support from the National Episcopal Office of Transition Ministry, we are moving quickly towards hiring a consultant. Once this is achieved, the consultant will walk us through the steps towards appointing a Nominating Committee. This committee will then take on all the daunting and soaring tasks involved in listening to the Diocese and then finding the right candidates, one of whom will become our next Diocesan Bishop.
We encourage you to add this process to your daily prayers, as well as prayers for the growth, preparation, and sustaining of our next bishop, known at this point only to God Himself. We view this as a time for our Diocese to come together across our differences and unite before the altar of Jesus Christ, our great Protector, Healer, and Redeemer. For ultimately, what we all want is for His will to be done in our beautiful corner of Earth, as it is in Heaven.
