Narika Stepping Into 2022

It is important to lean into the joy of hope: the beginning of a new year, the birth of a new idea, the honoring of a new life, the gathering of a rich harvest, the power of a new song. We too begin 2022 with the joy of hope and renewed intention to serve deeper with love. We hope to create stronger pathways to mental health services, expand our platforms providing economic empowerment, strengthen crisis relief responses, collaborate on intersectional efforts addressing systemic inequities, and above all, mindfully engage in prevention practices. We sit in community: rebuilding, caring, sharing. The work ahead is fierce, the hope in our heart is fiercer.

Here are the Narika Team's Intentions for 2022:

Prabha: "I hope to implement Mind, Body and Spirit programs that help survivors heal their wounds, gain strength and learn new healthy patterns that guide them past their experience into a bright new future."

Shailaja: "I am here to advocate for systemic changes, to build collaborative relationships, to create a work culture of compassion and creativity, to mobilize resources and strengthen infrastructures allowing consistent delivery of intervention and prevention services."

Sreeja: "My goal is to implement a sustainable, impactful and innovative model of economic empowerment and ensure overall well being of the community, especially women. I will help empower them to know their growth and potential."

Sonya: "I will increase awareness in our community and empower especially youth and vulnerable communities to understand domestic violence and healthy relationships and broaden access to Narika's services."

In 2022, Narika commemorates 30 years of service. Set your intention this year to join the movement and break cycles of violence. Take a stand against domestic violence. Follow us on social media, join our events, support our work, share our resources and be an advocates of change.
