Dear Long Beach Scouting Family:
Earlier this week, California governor Gavin Newsom extended the State's "stay at home" order. While this does not change much of what we have planned, we wanted to stay in communication with you. As we mentioned in our November 2020 update, our program committee has already planned the first six months of activities for this year 2021. Here is a sneak peek:

Look for Merit Badge classes and online trainings to continue regularly. We might even introduce some fresh Facebook Live content that would be of interest to many of you.
Our Scout shop will re-open for sales this coming Monday, January 4. We will be open for curbside pickup Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm. If you need to try on items, contact Sandy Van Wyk at 562-684-3165 to make arrangements. Parents have found our curbside pickup to be easy, quick, seamless, and efficient. We would be happy to help supply your derby cars, advancements items, and more.
While COVID-19 regulations have kept many of us apart, 2020 did bring some notable achievements. Among them are 41 Eagle Scouts, 1 Quartermaster, and 3 Summit Award recipients -- all of whom persevered through adverse conditions. With your support, Scouts collected over 10,800 pounds of food. And hundreds of families participated in activity days; bike rides; virtual classes; broadcasts from Tahquitz; kayaking on the water; YouTube, Facebook, and Zoom streams; and dozens of merit badges.
