Dierra Jones uploaded her thesis A Place in Time, written for her MFA from Savannah College of Art and Design (2019), to AJF's Library. In the jewelry field, place is significant in the life of an object because it tells a story that is activated through episodic memory. This causes objects to be an extension of one’s identity. Through focusing on place, Jones can re-create stories from her past that are activated through experience and create an endless narrative that is transferred to the audience.

We invite you to pore through our Library, a sortable database of digital media related to art jewelry that gives you another way to discover our field. Providing a place for art jewelry to be enjoyed and researched is just one of many ways AJF and our members celebrate art jewelry. Here's a sampling of what you'll find:

  • The book Contemporary Jewelry in Perspective, by Damian Skinner
  • The exhibition catalog for Pilosities, shown at Galeria Tereza Seabra
  • It's the Thought That Counts, Jorunn Veiteberg's book on Kim Buck
  • A review by Urmas Lüüs of Kadri Mälk's book, Hunt:
  • Anni Nørskov Mørch's curatorial statement for The Splendour of Power

Our digital library supports the jewelry community by providing online access to jewelry scholarship that would otherwise be impossible to find. Library items are generously contributed by readers. Do you have an item to share? If so, please submit your digital media to the Library so AJF's readers can enjoy it!
