Message From Our President
This week we celebrate love, and I can't help but share the reasons why I love Don Bosco!

Students at Don Bosco continue to excel in various facets of their lives. They work hard on their relationship with God, their academics, and their job skills.

But it's not just while they're here. I recently spoke with the mother of an alumna who shared that the firm that hired her daughter right out of college was the same one she interned with as a Don Bosco student! Our students go on to do great things! Don’t you just love that story? I do!

Feast of Don Bosco and Questions for the Cardinal
Don Bosco kicked off Catholic Schools Week and honored the Feast of St. John Bosco with Mass celebrated by His Eminence Wilton Cardinal Gregory. Following Mass, The Archdiocese of Washington recorded a segment called "Questions for the Cardinal" here at Don Bosco, with representatives from the Student Government Association. They asked the cardinal questions from a variety of topics such as leadership, environmental responsibility, racism, and conflict resolution. Cardinal Gregory took the time to thoughtfully answer each question. The students appreciated the opportunity to speak openly and learn directly from the cardinal.
Corporate Work Study Partner Highlight
Thank you to our friends at Clark Construction, who for the past 15 years have shared their talents with our students, preparing them to market themselves effectively. Today, 13 participants from the Clark Construction Corporate Speaking Club spent the day with our senior capstone class, conducting mock interviews, teaching public speaking skills, and reviewing the students’ resumes. We are grateful for this partnership, their support, and investment in our students’ futures.
Alumni Highlight
Born and raised in DC, Martin Mendoza attended the Washington Jesuit Academy for middle school, where he first heard and was encouraged to apply to Don Bosco Cristo Rey. The Corporate Work Study Program was the determining factor.

As a Don Bosco student, he worked for American University and The MITRE Corporation. His experiences at both American University and MITRE left positive impressions on him, prepared him for his career. He is still in touch with his colleagues!

Martin attended Le Moyne College in New York and graduated in 2021. We are excited to share that Martin is back in the Washington, DC area! He has started his new job – at Gonzaga College High School as their IT Systems and Help Desk Administrator. Congratulations, Martin!

When asked what he would share with current DBCR students, Martin said, "Do not be afraid to try new things, or experiences, and to meet new people." He encourages them to all make the most of those professional experiences but most importantly to "leave a good name and make a good impression wherever you go."
