The 2021 Juried Art Exhibit: The Art of Resilience
Deadline to submit: June 21, 2021

The City of St. Catharines is looking to artists for their insights and expressions of how the community has come together, demonstrated resiliency and adapted through a year of change and challenge brought on by COVID-19.

The City is calling on artists to submit works for the 2021 City of St. Catharines Annual Juried Art Exhibit. This year’s exhibit, which will be displayed at City Hall in the fall, is titled The Art of Resilience, and will feature works that encourage resilience in the face of the pandemic. This year’s exhibit aims to visually represent both how the arts are a source of support and connection as well as an illustration of how the community has been able to adapt, adjust and connect since the start of the pandemic. The role of artists and the arts is not just to record, commemorate, or comment on socio-cultural events, but to uplift, encourage and give hope to all those who experience it.

Artworks must be created in the past 3 years, selected artists will be compensated with an artist fee, and there is potential for purchase for the Civic Art Collection.
