Dear OCSA Families,

We would like to take this opportunity to provide you with an important update regarding OCSA’s projected date to resume in-person learning.

On Tuesday, March 2, the State of California reported the following Orange County COVID-19 metrics:
Although the Daily Case Rate metric remains in the most restrictive Purple Tier, current guidance under the Blueprint for a Safer Economy: Equity Focus indicates that a county can advance to the next less restrictive tier if the positivity and health equity percentages are two (2) tiers below the current assignment for a period of 14 consecutive days. If these metrics are maintained or continue to improve over the next 14 days, the State will officially designate the county into the less-restrictive Red Tier, which would permit OCSA to resume in-person learning five (5) additional days from that point.

Assuming the COVID-19 metrics maintain or continue to improve, we anticipate that Orange County will officially be designated into Tier 2/Red on Wednesday, March 17. Therefore, we project that OCSA’s first day of in-person learning will be on Monday, March 22.

We will continue to keep you updated as data evolves. Please stay tuned for next week’s Academy Announcements newsletter, in addition to other future communications, which will provide all families with any updates surrounding our projected return to campus, as well as further details relating to in-person learning, COVID-19 testing opportunities, campus safety measures, and more.

We want to thank you in advance for your patience and support in navigating this transition. Our Administrative Team and all of our teachers are so excited to see their students in person again. We are here to support you, we are committed to a safe return, and for those participating in the Hybrid/In-Person Learning Academy, we look forward to welcoming you back to campus soon!

Sincerely,
