March 2021 Newsletter
Springvale Public Library
An Ode to our Library Director,
March marks one year that everyone’s world changed. When we closed the library on March 16, 2020, I foolishly thought that we would be back open in 2 weeks. HA! Never in a million years did I imagine what would happen not only to our library but to the rest of the world. And...at this same time, I had gladly turned over the reigns to our new director, Lesley. Just a few weeks later she had to make the hard decision to close due to COVID-19. Not only did she have to learn a whole new job, but had to deal with a world-wide pandemic as well. Quite an introduction! Since then, Lesley has gone above and beyond making sure the staff and patrons are safe. She has led our team through many Zoom meetings, online programs, and learning of new ways to make sure our library services reach people. She has effortlessly embraced all that is Springvale Library while keeping a HUGE smile on her face and making us all laugh. So on this, Lesley’s first year with us, I’d like to give her a huge THANK YOU for all she has done for us. She is definitely a welcome addition to our library, the heart of the community.
