A New Year Awaits
Groundbreaking for our new Safe Haven Center
Join us on February 4 at 10 am for the official Virtual Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Laurel House Safe Haven Center.

We are excited to be relocating our shelter into a new building that will become known as our Safe Haven Center. This new, secure, and easily accessible facility will also house some of our supportive services for domestic violence victims and their children.

Stalking and Human Trafficking Awareness Month
January is national stalking month.

Stalking is a crime in all 50 states, D.C., U.S. territories, the military justice system, and on tribal lands. Stalkers use a variety of tactics, including (but not limited to): unwanted contact including phone calls, texts, and contact via social media, unwanted gifts, showing up/approaching an individual or their family/friends, monitoring, surveillance, property damage, and threats.

Breaking the Silence: Join the Conversation
Join us on February 10 at noon for Breaking the Silence: Shifting the Culture through Education, Empowerment, and Safety. This virtual panel will discuss teen and young adult dating violence prevention. It will feature keynote speaker Bill Mitchell, author of When Dating Hurts: What We Learned about Domestic Violence after our Daughter's Tragic Death.

In June 2005, Kristin Mitchell was killed 20 days after graduating from Saint Joseph's University by her ex-boyfriend. Since that time, her father, Bill Mitchell, has been an active advocate and friend to Laurel House.
