Class of 2022
On the question of the SAT School Day Exam Administration at Kehillah.
Due to ongoing COVID mitigation measures and the delay of class trips, we will not be able to offer the 2022 School Day SAT Examination this spring.
If the College Board offers a School Day SAT in October, 2022, Kehillah is committed to administering the exam at school and in an environment that is familiar to our students. We will communicate information about fall test dates when it is released by the College Board this summer.
Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions. Patti Carbery, Assistant Head of School.

Athletics Update:
Read All About it on the NEW KJHS Sports Page!
By: Coach Greenfield
Another busy week for the Kehillah basketball teams! We started the week on Sunday with our annual rivalry games against JCHS in the Golden Tallis games. It was a great atmosphere at Kezar Pavilion, and while all three were close at points, unfortunately, the Wolves were able to pull away for the victory in all three games.
After an off night on Monday, the girls and boys varsity teams were back at it against Design Tech. The girls started the evening with a thrilling back and forth game. With about 90 seconds to go, Kehillah looked to take the lead, but the ball hit everything but the net. It was a game to remember, and a career high in points by Yaara B. (15 points), and a stellar performance by Ariella S. (12 points). The girls ultimately lost 42-28.
The boys followed with another excellent game that was similarly just as close, and even went to overtime. The varsity boys were led by Zach B. (23 points), and had huge contributions from Bodhi G. (12 points) and Sam B. (11 points). The boys lost a heartbreaker 64-59.

Upcoming Performance:
BFF: March 2, 3, and 6, 2022
The Salon's next production -- BFF, by Anna Ziegler -- Ziegler's insightful drama explores the complex relationship between two best friends.
In BFF, the playwright suggests that a frequent ingredient in the complex relationship between girls is guilt. It's a valuable insight -- and one that Ziegler probes keenly in her fine 90-minute play. This play explores sensitive topics.

Towards Dignity and "Drippiness"
Parsha Tetzaveh
By Dr. Josh Krug
The other day, when I was subbing for one of the sections of Reflective Practice Walking, we started the experience by doing a one-word check-in. One student shared the word, “happy,” another shared the word, “tired,” and still another said, “calm.” Towards the end of the circle, one of the students shared the word, “drippy.”
On that day, before a wonderful walk filled with blue skies and the sounds of chirping birds, as well as Kehillah students rapt in conversations, I learned that the word, drippy, in contemporary teen slang, means “fashionable,” or “stylish.”

HUNT, GATHER, PARENT
Raising Kind Humans
Featuring Kasley Killam, MPH
What can we learn from other cultures to help us raise kind humans? Leveraging her time spent researching three of the world’s most venerable communities - Maya families in Mexico, Inuit families above the Arctic Circle, and Hadzabe families in Tanzania, Dr. Doucleff observed that these cultures don’t have the same challenges with children that Western parents do. Most strikingly, parents build a relationship with their children that is vastly different from the one many Western parents develop—built on cooperation instead of control, trust instead of fear, and personalized needs instead of standardized development milestones. In this talk she will share practical tips learned from other cultures for building calm, confident and conflict-free parent-child relationships. MORE HERE.
