Do you like routine in your life? A routine is defined as a set of customary and often mechanically performed procedures or activities. Sometimes a routine can be good, because it gives us a measure of control in our lives. However, there is a risk involved in getting into a regular routine, because sometimes routines can become mundane and meaningless. Worship with us on Sunday to find out more!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR MOBILE FOOD PANTRY

The Golden Corner Food Pantry is expanding its service to the community with a Mobile Food Pantry on the second and third Saturdays of the month. Beginning Nov. 12th the refrigerator truck will be at the Salem First Baptist Church from 10:00 AM to noon. The third Saturday, Nov. 19th it will be in Westminster and Long Creek.

Volunteers are needed for two hours on those mornings at the Food Pantry to pack boxes for distribution. Additional volunteers are needed from 10:00 AM to noon at the distribution locations.

Please contact Diane Caster at 910-599-2512 or [email protected] to volunteer or for more information.

Thank you to all who have volunteered to be bell ringers for the Salvation Army this year! We have covered all shifts but two (see above). Jane Harlin will send you a reminder email with instructions about a week prior to your shift date. Anyone able to cover the two remaining shifts can contact Jane by clicking here. Thanks again!

Disciples of Saint Mark UMC will recognize that October is the time when our Stewardship Ministry Team reaches out to our church family with the opportunity to pledge their financial support for the upcoming year’s ministry budget. Saint Mark disciples will receive their annual pledge card (Faith Commitment) in the mail the week of October 24-28, 2022. Please fill out your pledge card and bring it with you to worship on Sunday, October 30, 2022. As part of our celebration, we will have one worship service only in the Sanctuary at 11 am, where we will dedicate our pledges to God with prayer. Please also plan to join us for a Celebration meal in the Saint Mark Center following worship. Meat and drinks will be provided. Please bring a side dish or dessert to share.
