Dr. Khoshbin is a graduate of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Following graduation from Hopkins, he came to Boston and completed an internship and residency at the Children’s Hospital Medical Center. He then entered the Harvard Combined Neurology Program (Longwood Area Neurological Training Program), and was Chief Resident under Charles Barlow, M.D. at the Children’s Hospital, Norman Geschwind, M.D. at the Beth Israel Hospital, and H. Richard Tyler, M.D. at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He received his Fellowship training in Clinical Neurophysiology with Cesare Lombroso, M.D. (in electroencephalography) at the Children’s Hospital and with Mark Hallett, M.D. (in electromyography) at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital. His research interests are in clinical neurophysiology and epilepsy, neurophysiology of behavior, and neurological manifestations of rheumatic disease. Since he had spent most of his undergraduate years studying Fine Arts at the American University of Beirut and at L’Ecole des Beaux-arts in Paris; he also has a special interest in the neurological problems of visual artists.  

Dr. Khoshbin has received the Harvard Medical School Graduating Class Award for Excellence in Teaching three times. He has also twice received the Harvard Medical School Faculty Prize for Excellence in Teaching. He is a recipient of the Daniel D. Federman Outstanding Clinical Educator Award, and also the only non-psychiatrist to have received the coveted Elvin V. Semrad Award for Excellence in Teaching in Psychiatry.
