Lots happening at Shuswap Theatre

It's September and there is much happening at Shuswap Theatre!

We hope you will join us on Saturday September 16 at 7:00 pm for our

FALL GALA

(formerly called Open House)

The evening will be filled with entertainment, food and drinks. We invite you to bring a friend and come and celebrate live theatre. We'll give you a sneak peak at the upcoming season as well as other happenings throughout the year.

Once again we will have a float in the Fall Fair parade. We have last minute spots available if you would like to ride on the float or walk beside, handing out flyers and candy. We are also looking for people to help decorate the float beforehand. If you are able to be involved in any part of this, please contact Nedine, by email or phone 250-253-4598.

We will also have a booth at the Fall Fair all weekend. Are you interested in working a minimum 2 hour shift at the indoor booth, Friday, Saturday or Sunday? You will be greeting interested people and sharing with them information about our wonderful Theatre. Your entry fee for the day will be covered. Theatre 101

Saturday

Welcome to the collaborative magic of theatre!

Get a rare glimpse into the mysteries of how a theatre production is brought to the stage. Perhaps you are new to theatre or have only been involved in one or two areas before. If so, Theatre 101 is for you. And it's free! You'll learn how each department works - how plays are chosen - what the Director does - about Producers, Set Designers, Lighting and Sound and much more. Our in-house experts will explain it all. You'll also get a tour of the dark places where the audience never goes. Coffee and goodies will be supplied. For more information contact Julia Body by email or at 250-804-6767.

SENIORS' THEATRE

Our very popular SENIORS' THEATRE will begin again for the season on Tuesday, September 19 at 10:00am. Join this enthusiastic group for 90 minutes or so, on the first and third Tuesdays of each month or drop-in when you can. Despite the name, Senior's Theatre is for EVERYONE! The only requirements are that you are (or become) a member of Shuswap Theatre and drop $2 in the kitty each session if you are able. For more information, email Al.

Our Annual General Meeting will take place on Wednesday September 20 at 7:00pm.

Board Nominations

What does a Board Member do?

Our bylaws require that anyone standing for election to the Board must be a member in good standing for at least 14 days prior to the meeting. There are no nominations from the floor nor are proxy votes accepted. Memberships expire September 30 each year.
