The Pyramid Model for Promoting Social-Emotional Competence
What do teachers report as their #1 training need? If you answered challenging behavior, we are excited to let you know about some amazing new training that is being offered to all child care providers for FREE.
The Pyramid Model (PM) training is now available on the Statewide Training Calendar. There are 3 different age groups: Infant Toddler, Birth-5, and Preschool. There are Modules 1 and 2 for each age group and Module 3 is the same for all three age groups. We encourage you to take advantage of this free quality training.

ASQ Screening:
ASQ screening is a way to check each child's development for school readiness. If you or one of your parents are concerned about how their child is progressing from birth to 5 years, we can help. Using the link provided in the letter they can access the ASQ, Ages & Stages Questionnaire, and a trained CDSA staff member review the results and contact parents to go over them. You as the provider can print and send this letter to all your parents or you can do it through email, if that is what works best for you. Contact us at the office if you have any questions and ask for Kim or Rosie.

Oklahoma Infant Toddler Right Start Program:
 Oklahoma Infant Toddler Right Start Program goal is to improve the quality of child care programs by building a strong relationship-based foundation of care for infants and toddlers. Infant Toddler Specialists across Oklahoma who have experience working in programs with infants and toddlers. Specialists are degreed and have received formal training to work with providers in the community. Oklahoma Right Start coaching is offered to centers and family childcare homes at no cost. Each participant receives 30 hours of coaching related to Six Essential Practices of Infant/Toddler Care. Focus on building effective learning environments and mentoring to support them in building strong relationships between children/caregiver. Congratulations to the providers who completed 30 hours of coaching during ORSITP first session: Anna Woods, Parke Smith, Chelsi Janzen, LaDeanna Dady and Connie Blair They each received a $500 stipend as well as a $500 stipend for their center! Centers or Family homes who are interested in participating in the ORSITP can contact the Northwest Region Infant Toddler Specialist Christy Taylor at 580-747-3217. New session beginning soon! Monthly Activity With The Kids!!!
Shamrock Suncatcher:
Materials Needed:
Directions: 
  1. start off by taking your sheets of rainbow-colored or green tissue paper and cut them into small squares.
  2. Tape a large square of contact paper and taped it down to the table with the sticky side facing up.
  3. Then the kids can take their cut up tissue paper and apply it to the contact paper.
  4. When finished cut another square of contact paper and place it over the first one.
  5. Cut out your shamrock and tape it up to the window to display!
Cooking with the Kids:
Green Eggs & Ham! (Dr. Seuse)
Items needed
  • eggs
  • ham (pre-cooked)
  • green food coloring
Instructions
  • add green food coloring to the eggs then scramble
  • add green food coloring to some water and add the pre-cooked ham and worm it in the oven letting the water change the game colors
  • enjoy while reading the book Green Eggs and Ham
