….The “Sidney Broadcasting Company” announced on June 1, 1952, the opening of the radio station, KSID, as the new radio voice of western Nebraska, eastern Wyoming and northern Colorado, and now are celebrating their 70 year anniversary. The station started on radio dial 1540 AM. The studios were located in Legion Park with a radio tower at 175 feet tall. The station originally broadcast daily from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

…Flood Communications announced in early 2021 they will be moving the KSID studios from their original home in Legion Park to a new location in downtown Sidney, Neb. It was the first of such move for the radio station, which called Legion Park home since it was built in 1952.
…A month after the move, on May 5, 2021, the company announced all new formats and branding for the two KSID stations. 98.7 FM would become known as “The Big Boy,” named after the legendary steam engine to pay tribute to the area’s history with the railroad. The station plays today’s best country.
…The 1340 AM and 95.7 FM (Cheyenne County Country) focuses strictly on country music older than 1989. On the radio, they play the most music and have the most fun with engaging contests and promotions.
