Lutheran Lobby Day
Wednesday, May 18
The Lutheran Office of Public Policy-California invites you to join us for our annual Lutheran Lobby Day on May 18, 2022! We will gather virtually to pray, learn, and urge California legislators to lead with moral and spiritual callings.

This year, we are supporting legislation that centers on children and their families, regardless of immigration status. Our keynote speaker is Public Policy Director at United Ways California and Pacific Lutheran University alum Anna Hasselblad. We are grounded in Lutheran theology, and all are welcome, regardless of faith or lobbying experience.

Living the Resurrection Workshops
This relentless pandemic continues to exhaust all of us. Fatigue is on the surface, but what is underneath it?

In this special Haven, we will identify the various emotions that are wearing us out and discover how to use them to generate constructive actions.

Participants: please complete this survey so the conversation can be tailored to your experiences.

This 3-hour workshop will give you tools to lead your congregation to channel exhaustion and frustration in creative ways that lead to constructive change.

This free workshop is for leaders of congregations in the SWCA and Pacifica synods. This workshop benefits from your full participation. There will be one-on-one interviews and small group gatherings. Please expect to be present for the full three hours. There is no cost to attend.

The Rev. Dr. Marjorie Funk-Pihl is the primary consultant for Living the Resurrection, a church vitality ministry. Marj uses change strategies and motivational psychology in her work with congregations and has seen the impact the pandemic is having on our life together.

Luther reminds us that we do works in celebration of our faith not in order to obtain salvation that has already been granted to us. God's work. Our hands. is merely a day we commemorate that promise and we are called to continue to celebrate in that work the other 364 days of the year.

Now is a great time to start talking to your youth and young adults about the ways our communities can do justice and serve our neighbors.
