From the Desk of Mrs. Tiezzi
Dear SRS Parents and Guardians,

Bravo and congratulations to the cast and crew of Annie Jr. for the outstanding performances they shared with our school community this past weekend. After a two year hiatus due to COVID, it was so heartwarming to see the entire St. Rita community come together to put on this amazing show. I would especially like to thank Mrs. Delaney, Mrs. Mascia, Miss Maria, Mr. Teti and his band and all of our terrific parent helpers for bringing back the SRS Musical in the best way possible. We are all looking forward to continuing our outdoor SRS theatre next year. We can’t wait to see what Mrs. Delaney has in store for us!

Congratulations is also extended to 5th graders, Ellie Dagliere and Adriana Bonini for being recognized by the Connecticut Invention Convention for their projects. Ellie’s project, “Toothbrush Traveler”, won the 3M Science Applied to Life Innovation Award. Adriana’s project ,” Stray Away 300”, won the SWE Innovation Award. A special thank you to Mrs. Grossomanides for guiding the 5th grade classes through the Invention Convention process.

Next Tuesday, May 24, our band and choir will perform their Spring concerts beginning at 1:30. Bring your lawn chair and join us in the school parking lot to hear the amazing sounds of our very talented musicians.

Nurse's Corner
During the last two weeks in May the nurse will be conducting scoliosis screening for girls in grades 5 and 7 and boys in Grade 8.

The process is as follows:
The students will come to the health office during their gym class one at a time.
They will stand with their back to the nurse and remove their shirt. Girls can wear a bra.
The nurse will observe the back and spine for any curvatures and then have the student bend over, checking for any abnormalities.
The student will then put their shirt back on with their back to the nurse.

A notice will be going home this week. If you choose to not have your child checked for scoliosis please fill out the bottom of the form and return it to school before May 16.

Please pray for all those that have suffered in Ukraine, and all those who are suffering or have lost a loved-one during this pandemic.
Please pray for all the deceased members of our
St. Rita School community.
