Many thanks to Janaki Srikant, Courtney Daley, Kate Knuth, Melissa Chávez, Jane Christenson and Grade 5 for bringing us a lovely first Lunch Music offering of the year. This month’s theme was focused around the Indian festival of Diwali. Janaki told a story of Diwali to begin, and Grade 5 students presented a song and a dance from the Indian traditions they have been studying in Morning Lesson. | |
This week the sports psychology club met with Tyjhai Byers, a professional basketball player who grew up in Bethesda, MD on the same street as Ms. Gottlieb, our school counselor and instructor for the sports psychology club. He’s played basketball overseas in Europe and Africa, and will play in Australia this winter. With degrees in computer science and earth science, Tyjhai is currently working on his masters degree towards a future career in Meteorology.
Tyjhai shared his athletic journey with the club members and answered their questions on sports psychology topics such as resilience, grounding techniques used by athletes, the importance of being able to take constructive criticism, team cohesion, leaning on others for support, and mental health.

Holy Nights journal - Sacred Nights of Winter
During this darkest time of the year, when the outer world appears to sleep, our inner life awakens. Working with the Holy Nights, or “Time Between the Years” as it is sometimes called, is a potent way to connect more deeply with your awakening True Self.
he Holy Nights journal, Sacred Nights of Winter, is now available to order. It's designed to support you in not only cultivating your inner life, but also in creating a personalized map to guide you through the coming year’s opportunities and challenges.
“The journal was one of the most impactful and life-changing journeys I have ever undertaken. I had no idea what to expect, but each day opened my eyes to something I had never known or experienced before.” ~ Ash-Lee J., Loveland, CO
This year’s theme is Living Aligned with Nature. We need to be paying more attention to our role as beings of Nature to bring greater peace to this troubled world!
You’ll receive an invitation to a private online community (off of social media) with additional video teachings for each of the Sacred Nights of Winter, as well as free domestic shipping, all included with your journal.
