Dear Mercy Parents/Guardians,

Oakland County is currently categorized as having a high level of COVID-19 transmission. As of Thursday, May 12, Oakland County’s seven-day percent positivity for the county has risen to nearly 20%.

Local county health officials now recommend residents wear masks while indoors and in public. Mask wearing at Mercy High School continues to remain optional, yet encouraged.

To keep all students and faculty safe, please monitor your daughter daily for any symptoms of COVID-19. Symptoms include fever, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and diarrhea. If your daughter develops symptoms, we urge you to get her tested for COVID-19. Testing locations can be found using the COVID-19 Test Finder at michigan.gov/coronavirus. If your daughter tests positive for COVID-19 or is symptomatic, your daughter must stay home. For additional information regarding COVID-19, please visit the OCHD website at oakgov.com/health.

We ask that any student with a COVID-19 positive test result be reported to the Wellness Center Nurse, Mrs. Pat Attaway (pattaway@mhsmi.org or 248-893-3587).

Thank you for your support as we work to keep everyone well for the end of the school year activities and celebrations!

Blessings,

Dr. Cheryl Kreger, President
Mrs. Patricia Sattler, Principal
Mrs. Eleasha Tarplin, Dean of Student Affairs
