Univ. of Buffalo Caregiver Needs Survey
Please share with your staff and families the following information on a survey being conducted by Occupational Therapy graduate students at the University of Buffalo:
Are you a parent of a child who was diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome, or Cerebral Palsy? Please consider participating in a 10-minute online survey to help us understand the needs of caregivers. Also, please feel free to share this survey with your communities of parents and on social media.
What We’d Like to Know
Parenting is a complex role that may present a host of stressors and burdens from the aspect of caregiving. Parenting children with disabilities presents additional challenges and potentially different stress for these caregivers. Understanding the stressors of caring for children with and without disabilities can help health care providers to be better partners in children's care.
Who We Are
We are graduate students in the occupational therapy BS/MS program at University at Buffalo currently conducting IRB-approved research on caregiver burden in secondary and primary caregivers of individuals with Tourette Syndrome or Cerebral Palsy. We are looking for caregivers of these individuals to share their experiences on how their role as a caretaker affects their everyday lives, or the link to the flyer, which is https://tinyurl.com/caregiver-flyer.
We are asking that you please share this with parents in your organization, or publish a link to our survey in your magazine or newsletter, as we are looking to collect data nationwide.
With your help in advertising this survey, we can collect data from a wide sample of participants and share our findings with caregivers and caretaking teams to improve the delivery of overall services to families.

Get involved in Project Euphonia and help individuals with impaired speech use voice-activated tech
CP State is proud to partner with Google’s Project Euphonia, designed to improve how speech recognition systems recognize impaired speech. The project is designed to refine the speech recognition algorithms that drive devices like Google Home, Alexa, and other voice-activated technologies by introducing atypical speech patterns from individuals with disabilities.
On Tuesday, Feb. 16, we were joined the project's Katie Seaver and Marilyn Ladewig for an informational session on how the project works and how the individuals we serve can be part of it (and make some money in the process).
Here are some links you'll need to get started with Project Euphonia:
