SAVE THE DATE FOR GRANDPARENTS DAY

Parents, please save the date for Grandparents Day and help us communicate the following event information to your child's grandparents. This event has been moved to the fall semester and will be held after school rather than during the school day.

Grandparents are invited to visit Trinity School at Greenlawn from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 11. This year's program will allow students and their grandparents to gather for light hors d'oeuvres and move freely around the school. We will offer a Trinity-themed photo booth for all, and faculty members will be present so that students may introduce them to their grandparents. At 4:45 all visitors are welcome to go to the Greenlawn Auditorium to sit in on the weekly Chamber Choir practice.

PRE-ORDER SCHOOL PICTURES

Picture Day is on Monday, September 18. Lifetouch Photography will be on campus in the morning to take an individual portrait of each student in all grades. Students should dress in uniform as usual. There will also be an opportunity for re-takes on October 26 during lunch for students who are absent or request one.

Trinity School uses these photos for student IDs, as well as for the yearbook. Your child's photo will also be made available to purchase directly from Lifetouch Photography. To pre-order, please click through the link here and enter Trinity's Picture Day ID:

FAMILY FUN DAY

All are invited to Family Fun Day from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 16, at the Trinity School Athletic Center.

Our soccer teams have a total of six home games lined up for Saturday, starting at 9:00 a.m., so all are encouraged to come early and/or stay late to support the Titans.

A picnic lunch will be available for a charge of $5 per person, or a maximum of $20 per family, regardless of family size (cash only). The lunch will include a hamburger or hotdog, chips, water or soda, and a popsicle. We'll also have a few kid-friendly activities, including face painting, bubbles, can jam, and corn hole.

We recommend that you bring camping chairs and/or picnic blankets for extra seating.

FALL FIELD DAY

When

Friday, September 22

Where

Clay Township Park, 52001 Laurel Rd, South Bend, IN 46637

Arrival & Dismissal

Students should arrive no later than 8:45 a.m. Dismissal is at 2:15 p.m.

What to Bring

Please have your child bring a water bottle labeled with his or her name. Sun protection (hats, sunblock, etc.) is recommended. Lunch is provided, so unless your child has special dietary needs there is no need to pack a lunch.

Dress Code

Dress for all grades is casual (jeans, shorts, and t-shirts are acceptable). Please make sure that your child is dressed tastefully (e.g., no torn or tattered clothing, no tank tops, no inappropriate pictures or messages on t-shirts, etc.).

Attendance & Cancellation

Field Day is a regular school day and attendance is expected. However, if there is a medical reason your child cannot participate in sports, please let the front office know at [email protected]. We may arrange for your child to help run events, keep score, or participate in some other non-athletic capacity. There are no classes or faculty present at the Greenlawn campus on Field Day. If Field Day is canceled due to inclement weather, we will notify families by 7:00 a.m. via email.

CLUB FAIR

Each fall Trinity School organizes a Club Fair and invites students to sign up for extracurricular activities. Clubs are student-led and teacher-supervised groups dedicated to special interests such as art, drama, or film. Club Fair will be held today, September 1, from 3:00 to 3:10 p.m. We will follow up with the 2023-2024 club schedule soon.

IMMEDIATE VOLUNTEER NEEDS

We have a few immediate volunteer needs for upcoming events. Please consider helping out on Family Fun Day on September 16. We also need volunteers with medical expertise to help staff the medical tent for Fall Field Day. Please use the SignUpGenius list linked below, or reach out to Beth Couch at [email protected].

SCHOOL DAY REMINDERS

ABSENCES, TARDIES, AND EARLY DEPARTURE

If your child is going to be late or absent, please inform the front office as soon as possible (preferably by 8:15 a.m. on the day of the absence) by emailing [email protected]. If your child is going to leave at any time during the day before 3:00 p.m., please have him or her bring a parent note stating the time of departure to Morning Prayer, to be signed by the dean. When it is time to leave, your child may wait at the front office for you. Please either come inside or call from the front gate once you've arrived.

WATER BOTTLES & EATING UTENSILS

Please remind your child to bring his or her own water bottle to school every day, as well as any eating utensils needed for lunch. The front office does not have cups or disposable eating utensils on hand.

MORNING DROP-OFF

Please use the west side (southbound) parking lane on Greenlawn Avenue during drop-off and pick-up. Avoid double-parking, dropping students off on the opposite side of the street (so that they have to cross the street during busy traffic times to reach campus), and parking on the east side of the street.

DRIVING WAIVER REMINDER

If you have not already done so through Final Forms, please sign and return the Driving Waiver form for your child. This form is required for all Trinity students in grades 6-12 and is not the same thing as the Student Driver Form.

You may turn in a physical copy to the front office or email a digital copy (PDF or photo) to [email protected]. Thank you!

Driving Waiver

STUDENT DRIVER FORM

If your child drives to school, please be sure to submit this online form. This form is required for first-time student drivers OR students who are driving a vehicle that is different from the one they drove last year.

LECTURE & PERFORMANCE SERIES

We look forward to hosting Fr. Kevin Grove as the next speaker in our Lecture & Performance Series. Fr. Kevin is a Holy Cross priest and assistant professor of theology at Notre Dame. He will give a talk to students entitled Searching for God: Memory and Desire at the end of the school day on Thursday, September, 28.

UPDATE YOUR CONTACT INFORMATION

A printed directory for the 2023-24 school year will be distributed to all Trinity families in October. If there has been a change in your family's contact information (whether an address, phone number, or email address) that differs from what we have on file, please email [email protected] with the update to ensure that your family's information appears correctly in this year's directory.
