Important Dates for the Week of August 23rd:

Tuesday, August 24th - Auction Volunteer Meeting in the Annex. To ensure we have a very successful auction we need volunteers from our school community. Come find out how you can help.

Wednesday, August 25th - Mass for 6th - 8th Grade (7th Grade Leading) - SFX Church- 9:30 am - Mass said for the intention Fernando Pineda, father of Mariah Pineda. Parents may attend, but may NOT sit with the students, there will be a parent section in the back.

Thursday, August 26th - New Parent Retreat for new incoming parents of 1st - 8th-grade students. The retreat will begin at 4:45 pm. All new families to SFX will attend the New Parent Retreat. Please click here for more information and to RSVP. After the retreat, you will attend the Back to School Night for 1st - 8th grade. Please note: Mask will be required.

Thursday, August 26th - Back to School Night for 1st - 8th grade - 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm You will meet in your student's classroom. This event is for parents only and masks will be mandatory.

A few reminders about lunch:

  • Remember that Boonli closes at Midnight on Sunday for the week of August 30th
  • All students should bring a reusable water bottle with them to school. Staying hydrated is important to our overall health.
  • All purchased lunches come with a milk carton. Students who bring their lunch may buy a milk carton for $.50. That charge will come through FACTS.
  • Lunches are $6. Students who forget their lunch will be billed the $6 through FACTS.

We are looking for Fall Sports Coach Volunteers who have played or coached the sport before. If you are interested or know anyone interested in coaching Boys Flag Football or Girls Volleyball, please reach out to Angie Vecchiarelli for details and to get signed up to coach.

A reminder that ALL waivers for Fall sports (Boys Flag Football & Girls Volleyball) need to be turned in by August 27th. You can find the waivers at the link below. The fee for sports participation is $125/season. You will see the fee posted to your FACTS account. If you have any questions please reach out to Angie Vecchiarelli.

Altar Server Training

The parish is holding altar server training during school on Tuesday, August 31st for students in 4th - 8th grade who have received the sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist). 


Training will occur after lunch and students will miss about 1 hour of class time. Students are responsible for making up missing work in a timely manner and letting their teachers know in advance that they will be participating.

Students must register here by Friday 8/27 to participate.

Long time SFX Girl's Scout Troop 532, who have been together since Kindergarten, are now 8th graders and they are planning a trip to NYC. To help raise funds the troop is having a Multi-Family Garage Sale on Saturday, August 28th. Stop by and see what treasures you can find!
We are so proud of SFX graduate Ben Sanford ('17) who is following his call to vocation to the priesthood. Ben joined us for pledge and prayer with his family (Ben's mom is our very own Mrs. Sanford) where Fr. Bob led us in a prayer and blessing over him. Ben started seminary this week at the Nazareth House, please keep Ben, the Sanford family, and vocations to the priesthood in your prayers.
Ignatian Year Prayer Card

By now your student should have come home with an Ignatian Year prayer card. During this Jubilee Year where we celebrate the conversion of St. Ignatius, and work to "See All Things New In Christ" we will be saying the Ignatian Year Prayer at pledge and prayer, school masses, and parish masses. We have included a virtual copy of the prayer card just in case yours might not have found its way out of your students backpack. 
The kids have loved watching and listening to Mr. Favaro playing his accordion this week.
Good To Know:

  • Please read the SFX Covid 19 testing policy. It is very important that everyone understands the proper procedures if you or one of your family members needs to be tested. Please read the policy here.

  • Parking Lot Reminders- Please read the following parking lot drop-off and dismissal procedures. If we all follow the procedures our parking lot should move smoothly during drop off and pick up. Thank you for your attention to this important issue. Please read reminders here.


  • To volunteer on campus every parent must complete both a foundational training in Safe Environment Training (SET) and the yearly update. You only have to take the foundational training (all new families to SFX or if you have not completed it in past years). Certification year ranges from July 1st - June 30th annually. Once you complete foundation training, and every subsequent year as you update, your record is maintained in the diocesan database as well as at the training site.  Please click here for complete information.

  • Financial Assistance/Tuition Questions - We understand that this is a very unsettling and uncertain time for many of our families.
