RFQ – Costs of Electrifying Existing Single-Family Homes – Electrification Consultant & Contractors

The Office of Sustainability is developing 10 case studies highlighting costs and strategies to electrify existing single-family homes. The County recently released a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) seeking the following services:

Electrification consulting: The consultant will conduct site visits at 10 homes in San Mateo County, discuss decarbonization goals with each homeowner, coordinate with three contractor teams to get estimates, analyze the costs of electrifying each home, and write up 10 case studies. Budget: $20,000

Home project quotes (3 contractor teams): Each contractor team will provide pricing for electrifying the equipment at 10 homes, as directed by the electrification consultant. Equipment pricing will include energy efficiency; heat pump water heating, space heating, and clothes drying; induction cooking; solar; battery backup; and electric vehicle charging. The contractor team will also provide insights about considerations that impacted the pricing. Budget: $10,000 for each contractor team.

To access the RFQ, please click here.
Responses are due April 16, 2021.
THANK YOU to our SPONSORS and supporters for helping us realize our vision! We couldn't do it without you!
