GSSCC Signs onto White House Call to Action

GSSCC has joined business organizations across the country in a public-private "Rally for Recovery" to defeat the COVID-19 pandemic; help protect employees, customers and communities; and reignite our economy.

On Friday afternoon, GSSCC President Jane Redicker joined chamber and business leaders from across the nation on a call with White House Senior Advisor Andy Slavitt, who announced a new partnership with America’s leading business organizations to enlist the full force of the private sector to defeat COVID-19. The call to action asks three things of America’s businesses:

  • Require masks and social distancing in the workplace to protect customers and workers.

  • Reduce barriers to vaccinations by developing a plan to help employees get vaccinated or provide incentives for employees to get vaccinated when it is their turn.

  • Third, communicate with customers and educate the public by amplifying CDC messages about masking and vaccinations on products, properties, and/or websites.

The White House will be collecting stories about how employers are supporting the call to action and plans to highlight these through various media outlets. Slavitt encouraged businesses to email publicprivatepartnership@who.eop.gov and describe what their organizations are doing to combat COVID-19.

As materials and other incentives are developed to help employers with these efforts, GSSCC will report here and on our website.
