April 21, 2021
Dear Friends, Champions and Colleagues.
I am excited to share that we have hired two outstanding educators to lead our new One City Preparatory Academy (OCPA) that will open in Dane County in September 2022. OCPA will be One City’s second public charter school, and Wisconsin's first public Early College and Career Preparatory Secondary School that will serve students from grades 6 through 12.
ABOUT OCPA
As part of OCPA’s rigorous, inspiring and self-actualizing academic program, our diverse study body will begin learning about the connection between higher education, advanced and extended learning opportunities, and professional careers in grades 6 and 7. By 10th grade, our students will begin completing college courses, and engage in internships and apprenticeships in several occupational fields. Their education program will prepare them to successfully complete their college education and/or career training program while attending OCPA, and after they receive their high school diplomas. We expect that 100% of our students will complete at least 30-college credits, at the expense of One City Schools, by the time they complete 12th grade. To learn more about OCPA, click here.
