The McCourt School welcomes to its founding advisory board seventeen dynamic leaders in politics, policy, business and philanthropy who will support the school as it forges its new chapter.

Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Administrator and McCourt alum Chiquita Brooks-LaSure (MPP‘99) underscored a commitment to equity in policy making and fostering an inclusive work environment at the McCourt School’s annual Whittington Lecture honoring Professor Leslie Whittington who passed away on September 11, 2001.

President Biden has formally announced the nomination of McCourt Professor Dr. Adriana Kugler for US Executive Director of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, part of the World Bank Group. Professor Kugler previously served as Chief Economist of the US Department of Labor during the Obama Administration and was a Policy Volunteer for the Biden for President Campaign.

While many McCourt graduates pursue careers in the public, private and nonprofit sectors, others find their calling in academia. The McCourt School is proud to share the stories of three alums who are dedicating their careers to the academy, conducting policy-relevant research and educating the next generation of policy makers and data scientists.

On August 15, 2021, McCourt alums Andrea Vargas Delgado (MPP’19) and Peter Nouhan (MPP’19) were alerted that one their former classmates was impacted by the crisis in Afghanistan. Almost immediately, 25 members of the McCourt School Class of 2019, living in four different continents, banded together to raise a substantial sum of money to help others who were displaced.
