The student must attend all 4 sessions until the course is complete and all assessments are passed with a minimum of a 70%. If students are successful they will receive a final grade of 70% on their transcript. There is no guarantee of success if a student does not demonstrate learning of the course content.

The summer session is performance based and concludes for each student upon completion of the credit(s) needed to be recovered. A student will complete a course and earn credit when s/he successfully completes both the final exam and coursework determined by the instructor. 2022-2023 SSAC Application

In an effort to increase consistency, all high school students who represented their schools last year on the SSAC may remain on the Council for the 2022-2023 school year.  They will need to complete the application link below to show their intent to continue to serve.  Any student grade 4-11, including the current high school members, may apply for a seat on the SSAC, no later than 11:59 May 27, 2022.

Applications will be reviewed, scored using a rubric and principals contacted for confirmation and recommendation of the student, no later than mid-June, with an announcement anticipated by end of the day June 24th. The SSAC is made up of 3-4 students from each high school including Ignite, 3 students from each middle school and 2 students from each elementary school.

The high school council members will act as the Cabinet for the Student School Board Representative, Heng Yang and will meet prior to the first SSAC meeting, in-person at the district office, to begin the planning process for 2022-2023. We anticipate the first meeting of the full Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council to be Wednesday September 7, 9:00-11:00. More information and invitations to come in August.

The goal of the SSAC is to develop leadership skills as a group and individually return them to schools in order to effectively implement characteristics of an effective leader, student voice, service and encouraging meaningful participation in student-led initiatives. This goal is worked towards during monthly meetings, which are approximately two hours long. These meetings are during school hours and will be excused, however, students are still responsible for making up missed work. BY APPLYING, STUDENTS ARE AGREEING TO THIS TIME COMMITMENT. Students may click on the interest form link below to apply.
