Second Sunday of Lent

Taking the Gospel to prayer

When things are going great with God, we see His glory and want to stay with Him - just as Peter, James, and John did. Of course, their experience of the Transfiguration was a more intense experience, but I don't think that drawing the parallel is stretching the point. We ultimately come down from the mountain. Our own questions often follow: What did God want me to learn from this? Why have things changed? I wish I didn't have to go back to my old routine...

Lent offers us an opportunity to encounter the transfigured Christ...to see Him as He truly is and draw closer to Him. We are a quarter of the way through the season. How are ou doing with your Lenten journey?
