This Week in Choir (TWIC) emails will be sent out on Sundays. The TWIC will highlight important choir information & events for students & families.
Choir News
District XII Honors Choir
We have had three rehearsals to prepare for District Choir. Students who missed a rehearsal should make up the time by practicing with the tracks and having their parents verify with a note.
District Choir Fees
Commitment forms, permission forms, and checks payable to LHS Choral Guild are due by Friday, February 4.
Mixed – $51.50
Treble – $48.30
District Choir Schedule – Washington-Liberty HS, Arlington
Parents are responsible for transportation on Thursday and Saturday
Thursday, February 10, 6:00 – 9:00 pm
Friday, February 11, 10:30 am – 5:00 pm (Bus provided)
Saturday, February 12, 8:45 am – 4:00 pm
District Choir Concert Times
Middle Schools – 1:00 pm
Treble Choir – 2:30 pm
Mixed Choir – 3:30 pm
All-Virginia Chorus Auditions - Virtual
All students selected for District Choir are eligible to audition, as long as they participate in the District Choir event. Sign up using the Google form on Schoology by Thursday, February 3. Once signed up, parents will receive and email link to pay the $15 audition fee. Once paid, students will be sent a link to audition. The audition window is February 1 – 14.
Lettering
If you plan to receive a choir letter this year (you must have auditioned for District Choir), Letter Point Tally Sheets are due no later than Monday, January 31! Bring any programs for concerts you have attended thus far. You will have a chance to add others in the spring. Don't worry about fundraising or submitting voice/piano lessons right now - we will take care of that later, as well. If you are not planning to letter this year, but want to carry points forward to next year, you may turn in your form at the end of the year.
Choral Guild News
Virtual Bingo Night! Students and families, please join us for choir Virtual Bingo night this Friday, February 4, at 7 pm! This event will be free, and we will have prizes! Look for a Blast later this week with links to the Zoom meeting and Bingo cards.
Renaissance Feaste Chamber and Madrigals Costumes
Feaste Chamber and Madrigal costumes are due back, dry-cleaned, by Friday, February 4. Recommended dry cleaner with good prices: Great Falls Cleaners, 9900 Georgetown Pike in Great Falls.
