I’m writing to you today on behalf of the Board of Directors for the South Central Wisconsin MLS (SCWMLS). We understand that many of you have questions about the future of our relationship with ShowingTime and our Board met this week to discuss showing services. We believe that our members have benefited from a single MLS-Integrated showing scheduling service since 2005, and our goal is to continue to provide this important service.
While we have had a contract with ShowingTime that renews annually, each year we evaluate our vendor relationships. Our current contract expires in late October, which will allow us ample time to consider our options. We sincerely appreciate your patience while we consider options for a continued MLS-offered showing scheduling service.
As you know, an accepted offer is not the final step in any transaction. Not only do both parties need to agree to terms related to the merger, but in this case they have to make it through FTC approval which could take as long as a year. We have time to ensure that we thoroughly evaluate our options as an MLS.
In the meantime, you can rest easy knowing that our MLS contract prevents ShowingTime from sharing any listing or client data with any other party without our permission, so information you have entered and continue to enter will remain confidential.
Current Contract Language:
“To the extent that Provider is given access to the property data and contact information of client, such information shall be confidential and provider shall only store such data on its own servers and backup devices and shall not disclose the same to third parties without the written consent of the client.”
