Wacky Wednesday at Home Activities

Kindred Reserve Fencing
Over 1,700 feet of new signature open space fencing has been produced through in-house staff members and installed along the southern boundary of the Kindred Reserve Open Space. This fence design is intended to be unique and eye-catching helping to serve as a trademark for future properties developed by the City.

5th Street Interchange
Do you pass the 5th Street Interchange between Riverside Park and 5th Street? You may have noticed significant changes to this landscape. In the coming spring, drought tolerant wildflowers and native plants will dominate this landscape and showcase the beauty of our unique environment as reflected by the Colorado National Monument. Green turf will also highlight the most visible sections of this entryway.
Horticulture Spring Flowers
Our Horticulture team is preparing for the spring! 𝟏𝟎,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐩π₯𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬 are currently growing to make Grand Junction colorful! The Horticulture team is in the midst of growing annual and perennial flowers
ο»Ώin-house which will be planted throughout the City. By growing these plants in-house, the division saves over half of their annual budget for plants which can then be used for other needs like shrub replacements.

What is your favorite part about your job?
"I get the opportunity to guide and lead young people, many of whom are just entering the workforce, teaching them valuable life skills and positively impacting the community at the same time."

What is your favorite place in Grand Junction?
"Any place that has good tacos is high on my list, and I love to support local breweries!"

Outside of work, what do you enjoy doing?
ο»Ώ"I am an avid fly angler and love to guide others and teach fly tying. You can find me at my tying desk or on the river most any time I'm not working. I love cooking, music, my rescue dogs, and, of course, my lovely and talented wife."
