Hang Out With Us!
FREE Oscar Night Watch Party!

Oscar Night is coming up! You can have fun and support the Cinema just by joining our free watch party! Having our members and patrons in our watch party demonstrates to our institutional funders that we have great community support.

On Oscar Night, tune into ABC on your TV to watch the Oscars, like usual, and then log into our Watch Party on Zoom as a companion event.

It's going to be a fun night with lots of activities during the breaks. We can't wait to share it with you.

You can also support us by buying BINGO cards and by entering our raffle.

First Prize: Programmer for a Day!
Be a Cinema Arts Centre programmer for a day. Suggest three films, and we will book one of them for an evening (Monday-Thursday, depending on availability). We will advertise the film as your pick through all of our promotional mechanisms! You may host the evening, inviting up to 10 guests to attend for free. You may introduce the film to the audience. See one of your favorite films up on the big screen the way it was meant to be seen, sharing it with your own guests and our CAC audience! Includes red carpet photo opportunity, and free popcorn and soda for you and your guests. Must be redeemed within one year of the reopening of the Cinema Arts Centre’s facility.

Second Prize: Director’s Circle Membership!
Third Prize: Patron Membership!

Get ready for the big night by watching Oscar Shorts in our Virtual Screening Room.

Sponsor Spotlight: Fountaingate Gardens

Fountaingate Gardens is the lead sponsor of our Awards Season Fundraiser and a returning sponsor of Cinema Arts Centre programs. We are pleased to bring you the following message from our sponsor:

Making the lifestyle leap into the best of your life
There are many senior living options available on Long Island: 55+ communities, assisted living communities and Life Plan Communities, to name a few. If you’re thinking about or have already retired, how do you balance what you want now with what you may need in the future?

55+ communities may seem like the perfect option to support you as you age, but often don’t offer more than neighbors who are similarly aged but not engaged as a community. The grounds are well-kept, but home maintenance isn’t included. If you need care, you need to move again. Needs-based assisted living communities are rental communities that provide some care while offering a one-room suite or small apartment, activities and meals. More complex care requires a move to a rehabilitation or nursing care center. In both cases, additional care would be paid for as needed.

Life Plan Communities like Fountaingate Gardens, Long Island’s newest option for planners aged 62+, are independent living communities focused on health, engagement and well-being. Luxurious facilities and myriad amenities cater to your every need, and a robust schedule of activities includes programs to foster a healthy, active lifestyle. But where Life Plan Communities really differ from the other options is in securing your health and financial future: many levels of care are available on campus, and various contract options may provide predictable monthly fees for the rest of your life. Add asset protection to your ability to leave a legacy for your children, and moving to a Life Plan Community seems – in the words of one Fountaingate Gardens Founders Club member – “a no brainer!”

Fountaingate Gardens is sponsored by Gurwin Healthcare System, a renowned provider of senior living and care on Long Island for more than 30 years. As part of Gurwin, Fountaingate Gardens residents will have access to Gurwin’s elegant Assisted Living Community and the 5-star rated Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, as well as many other levels of care including home care, adult day care, on-campus dialysis and infusion therapy, memory care and more.

“Gurwin is well-known for its innovative approach to providing all levels of care for seniors on Long Island,” said Stuart B. Almer, Gurwin Healthcare System’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “Compassion, clinical excellence, and state-of-the-art facilities have cemented our reputation as the health care community of choice for seniors in the New York area. That reputation of excellence now extends to a new lifestyle option for active, independent older adults on Long Island.”

Located on Gurwin’s lush, 34-acre Commack campus, just minutes from highway access, Fountaingate Gardens will have a charming, village-like ambience offering a dynamic lifestyle for residents. Dining venues, a fitness center, social gathering areas, and numerous other appealing amenities will be conveniently located just a few steps from each residence. Winding paths will meander through landscaped grounds, and a winding, bubbling brook will create a scenic oasis for residents to enjoy.

Residences in the new community will be located in two elegant building styles and may be customized to each resident’s preference. The project is already almost 65% sold, with some of the most popular floor plans nearly or completely unavailable. Construction on the community began in late 2020, with move-ins projected for summer 2022.

It’s time to change how we view retirement living. Fountaingate Gardens offers a dynamic lifestyle for active adults to flourish in this next chapter of life! Members of this unique community will not only enjoy life unencumbered by maintenance and chores in their safe, comfortable and luxurious new apartment home, but will also have the invaluable peace of mind knowing that they have a secure financial and healthcare safety net in place. Make the leap to the best of your life…call (631) 715-2693 today!

We Are Getting Close,
But We Need You...

Thanks to our amazing community, more than a year later, we are still here! And we are so close to that "light at the end of the tunnel" we have all been talking about.

Thanks to generous grant support, and gifts large and small from thousands of Cinema Arts Centre members and friends, we have been able to present virtual programs since March 2020, and are well on our way to completing important renovations in our building, like upgrading our ventilation system, replacing our seats and carpets, and making other safety enhancements.

While we can't yet predict our reopening date and understand that circumstances may change, we are excited about all of the progress toward reopening and are preparing to reopen early summer!

Vital funding from the Small Business Administration through the Shuttered Venue Operators Grant should be coming soon. We can envision our cleaner and more comfortable theaters open to the public, our staff at the Box Office ready to greet you, and you walking through our doors once again. It's going to happen!

But we are not quite there. Your gift today of any amount will help to make sure we get there. If everyone who opens this email contributes $25, that will help us with reopening costs as we work toward securing government relief funding.

Make a $25 RAFFLE contribution to be automatically entered in a drawing for great prizes. Or make a gift of any amount HERE. Or contact rene@cinemaartscentre.org for more information and more ways to give.

Thank you for being part of our community. We appreciate you so much and we can't wait to see you again.
The Cinema Arts Centre is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization. The mission of the Cinema Arts Centre is to bring the best in cinematic artistry to Long Island, and use the power of film to expand the awareness and consciousness of our community.
