Lovejoy High School News
A Message from the Principal
May 2, 2022
Parents and Guardians,

We have officially entered the last month of school! It seems like just yesterday we were welcoming our Seniors into LHS, and now we are quickly approaching graduation.

As a reminder, we began AP testing today and will continue each day through next Friday, May 13. Students will also be taking STAAR tests this week. On Tuesday, all Algebra I students will be taking their EOC exam, followed by Biology students on Wednesday, and US History students on Thursday. Friday will be the make-up date for EOC exams that were missed earlier in the week.

LHS received some great news last week. Once again LHS was recognized by US News & World Report in their rankings of the top high schools across the country. Lovejoy ranked #306 out of 17,843 schools nationally and #52 out of 1,992 schools in Texas. This includes all charter, magnet and public high schools regardless of classification.

As we enter this incredibly busy month, I want to encourage you to check my weekly email as a source for information about upcoming events. Please take a few minutes to review the email, so you are aware of what is happening over the next four weeks. Have a great week!

Sincerely,

Chris Mayfield
Principal
Lovejoy High School
