Welcome to this month's Caring Palms Healing Arts newsletter. This month, we have some news and articles for you. New classes have been added for the first six months of the year, and one can sign up for them now.

Changes Coming
As announced in November, changes are coming, but those changes may be sooner than expected. I thought that my lease was up at the end of June, but it is up at the end of May. I am currently talking with the landlord to see if a one month extension can be done to keep with what I have announced. We should know something in the next 10 days or so. If so, we will keep to schedule, and continue doing sessions here until the end of May. If not, then things will end a month earlier.
Currently, I am still doing oiled massage, and will continue to do so until one month before I leave this place (I will need a month to get stuff out, and or sold – yes that means cabinets and fixtures as well as pictures are being sold if anyone wants anything).
Next week (the first week in February), I will start looking for a room to rent so that I may continue doing energy work, Mediumship readings, Myofascial Release (MFR), and meditation sessions and classes. I will also be looking for new places to hold classes, and hopefully one big enough to have more people.
All uncertainty should be gone by next month’s newsletter, and I should let you know exactly what is happening and when thing will be changing. In the meantime, get in and use any gift certificates you have, and get in and get the work you need.

Caring Palms Honored (Again) by Expertise.com
Caring Palms has again been honored by Expertise.com, picking us as one of the top 26 massage establishments in Jacksonville. Not only did they choose us out of 215 businesses in town, they also rated our reputation with an “A”.
Their goal is to connect people with the best local experts. They scored Jacksonville Massage Therapists on more than 25 variables across five categories, and analyzed the results to give you a hand-picked list of the best. They initially looked at 215 therapists, then curated 139 of them, and picked the top 26.
To determine who was the best, they looked in the following areas and followed the following process (taken from their website)…

Finding Potential Picks
First, we identify all the potential providers in a community. We use public databases and customer referrals to collect an exhaustive list of local businesses, checking their availability and service areas.
Qualifications
Look for Accreditations, Awards, and Licenses
Next, we validate each business' qualifications. We know which professions require a license or certification to operate in your area, and we find providers who have gone above and beyond to educate themselves in their area of expertise.

Analyze Review Data
We scour public records and information to determine each provider’s reputation. Every provider is analyzed based on the number of professional databases reviewing them, their average review score, and the volatility of their ratings.

After our screening processes, we select our finalists based on a provider’s primary area of expertise, the variety of services they offer, and their years of experience.

Finally, our mystery shoppers call each company, identifying themselves as potential customers, to gauge knowledgeability, friendliness, and professionalism.

Brian Took Classes
Over the month of January, Brian has been talking classes in mediumship and its assorted variations. Eamonn Downey managed to come over from England this year amid all the Covid outbreaks. He brought with him some new techniques showing students how to get deeper into the “zone”. The Master Mediumship class in Vero Beach displayed this new technique, and students were connecting to the energies to do healing and trance work to a group of people individually or as a group.
The next weekend was the Trance class (through Zoom) where he had students build on the techniques to do trance speaking and healing. The following weekend (which as of this writing has not happened yet) is to be strictly evidential mediumship in Orlando.
Brian enjoyed these classes a lot, and learned a tremendous amount from them. He has started applying the energy techniques in healing sessions, and looks forward to gaining a lot from the final class which he will apply to sessions.

Mediumship and the Levels It Extends To

The basics of what mediumship is, is mostly considered talking to the dead. Actually, anyone can talk to the dead. It is listening that is the hard part, hence the training.
When people think of mediumship, they think of someone connecting to a friend or relative that has passed over to bring forth evidence and/or messages. But mediumship is more than that. It is connecting with spirit, either an individual spirit or a collective. Through this connection, a lot of things can be done from giving advice or encouragement to doing healing energy work.
First off, a medium is a psychic, whether they know they are or not. Every medium is a psychic, but not every psychic has the ability to be a medium. That gift is a step beyond.
The means to do this starts with energy (which is why I recommend learning some type of energy work, like Reiki). It is the manipulation of energy that allows a medium to connect to the energies of spirit. Now keep in mind, there is no spirit world or land (or Heaven of Hell for that matter). There is another dimension that we refer to as the spirit realm, and reaching into that area means matching energies. And while spirits are watching us, prodding us, helping us, they are not physically here in the terms we think of when we think physical.
When a medium does evidential mediumship, they are raising their vibration and energies to connect to one specific spirit. While connected, they receive information in the form of pictures, sounds, and feelings. They relay this to prove to the sitter whom has come through. Once that identification has been made, a message is passed. (This is the basis for the British style of mediumship.)
Another step up from that is Trance. This is where the medium moves out of their physical body as much as possible, and spirit moves in (and no, this is not like all the horror movies as the medium still has control). Now Trance can be done at various levels from light trance to deep trance.
Light trance mode is where I do major chakra cleansings as well as other White Light work that I do. A medium trance mode is where a form of Trance Healing is done. This is energy work with the guidance of the medium and energy of the spirit.
Now deeper Trance work is where the medium (usually) does not touch the sitter, but can do Trance energy healing by sending it across the room to the recipient(s). This is powerful healing energy, but is not recommended for those that have never tried energy healing or those that can not feel energies.
Also in deeper trance work, the medium can let the spirit speak through them. This is direct communication from spirit. In some cases, it can be a lecture. In others it can be a conversation where the sitter gets to ask questions.
The last two weekends of classes has taught how to deepen the levels of energies so that we become a clearer conduit for spirit to do their work. I look forward to using that as I do the energy healing sessions ahead of me.

Note: We are asking people not to post on Yelp unless you are a person that posts there regularly. Yelp has some qualifying software that looks at each review, and if you are a regular poster, your comment is deemed "Relevant", otherwise your comment is marked "Not Relevant". While Caring Palms has 20 5-star reviews on Yelp, only seven of them are deemed "Relevant", and one has to go through another step to see the remaining 13.

Guided Meditation CDs Available In-House and Online
The first three guided meditations are now available. We have a small inventory in-house). When these have been sold, we will replenish them (replenishment takes about 10 days). These meditations are also available online as CDs or MP3s and can be purchased through the Meditations Page. If you are looking for a safe meditative journey to relax or work, come see us, or purchase one (or all three) online. Available meditations include, Finding Sanctuary, Working Through Past Experiences, and Visiting With Your Guides. We are hoping to have the other three available within a few months.
Currently, the links to purchase the Meditation CDs are not working. The site needs to see sales every six months else they get taken down. CDs are available at the studio. If you want the audio file, let me know and I will get them to you.

The following is a list of currently scheduled Reiki Classes. Each class (unless otherwise marked) currently has a status of 'Scheduled'. This means that a date has been set, but no one has signed up for it yet. Once a deposit has been received for a class, the status will be 'Confirmed'. Any class marked as 'Closed' has filled up. (Note: In some cases, one may be able to enter a class marked 'Closed' with permission of the instructor.)
Please note, a class schedule will be set for the first five months of next year. During that time, there will be several Reiki 1 classes, and one of each Reiki 2, 3, 4. The new class schedule will be available in the January newsletter.
You may sign up for any of these through the website, or over the phone with a credit card.
Each class is limited to four people so we are not cramped.
Reiki 1

More classes will be added once Caring Palms settles into a new location after June, and a new class location is found.
All classes are open to anyone wanting to learn this unique method of hands-on healing. The cost for each class is $150 no matter what level of Reiki the class is for. A $75 deposit is required a minimum of seven (7) days prior to the class date (or permission of the instructor) to reserve a space in the class. Full payment must be received two (2) days before the class date. Classes with no deposits received by the cut off date will be canceled. All class statuses may be viewed under Reiki, Reiki Class Information, and Class Schedule. You can also sign up for classes there. (Check the website for the location.)
Each Reiki class is Florida Board of Massage Approved for six (6) Continuing Education Hours (CEUs)

Caring Palms Hosts Mediumship Classes |
Currently, all of Marilyn's class are being held online through Zoom with some being in person. If you want to take a class, call her and she will tell you what you need to do.
Notice: The February and April classes will be a live IN PERSON at the studio!! Masks will be required.
Every month, Caring Palms is host a mediumship class taught by Marilyn Jenquin of the International Foundation for Spiritual Knowledge. In this class, Marilyn teaches the British style of mediumship (this is similar to the style used by John Edward). Each class contains a lecture, a meditation, and class exercises. This is for all ranges of students from the beginner, to the long time student.
Mediumship is a method of communicating with people who are no longer in their physical body, but in the spirit world. The class teaches students to do evidential readings as exercises so they get comfortable developing a relationship with those in spirit. This class is for anyone wanting to work with spirit whether they intend to become professional mediums or simply to use it in their everyday lives.
Classes are usually scheduled the fourth Thursday of each month from 1pm to 3:30pm at the Caring Palms studio. For more information, go to the IFSK Website where you can learn more about this, check class schedules and locations, and get contact information. |

Brian is now doing readings to anyone that wants to sit for one for $50 for up to one hour. Keep in mind, these are mediumship readings, not psychic readings. If you have an interest, please contact Brian and something can be scheduled. These can also be scheduled from the website. Procedures due to the Pandemic
Because of the ongoing issue with COVID 19, there will be changes in procedures to keep everyone (client and therapist alike) safe.
- Everyone coming in will have their temperature taken by a non-touch forehead thermometer. Anyone with a temperature of 100 degrees or higher will be asked to come back another time.
- A new form has been added letting you know that everything possible is being done to keep the disease from spreading. Basically, it is an information disclaimer like people sign for massage or Reiki sessions.
- During the intake process, while scanning, spirit will be asked if it is safe to work on that client.
- The client will be required to wear a face mask while they are face up (supine) during the session. If you do not have a mask, a disposable one will be provided.
- Your therapist will be wearing a mask during the entire session.
- After the session, all surfaces touched will be wiped down with disinfectant, and some will be cleaned through UV light.

We have added a Hepa/UV filter in the room that will be running at all times.
These procedures will not be bypassed under any circumstances. The idea is to keep everyone safe, yet allow them to get their needed sessions.
Also, if you normally refuse to wear a mask when going about normal errands, please wait to come in. If you have been in large groups that do not wear masks, please wait to come in. If you know that you have been exposed to people that have COVID, please wait to come in until you know you do not have it. This is for our safety as well as yours.
