Apply Now for a California Competes Tax Credit: $150 Million Now Available

The California Competes Tax Credit (CCTC) is an income tax credit available to businesses that want to locate in California, or stay and grow in California (like in Moorpark!). Businesses of any industry, size, or location compete for tax credits by applying in one of the three application periods each year. Applicants are analyzed based on twelve different factors of evaluation, including number of full-time jobs being created, amount of investment, and strategic importance to the state or region, with priority given to businesses who demonstrate high impact in these categories.

California is now accepting applications for the California Competes Tax Credit through August 16, from which the state will award $150 million. To date, over 1,100 businesses have received California Competes Tax Credits, including businesses right here in Ventura County.
