Drop off your finished blankets in the 24-hour curbside bin outside our workshop..

We were thrilled to have MVOB, and some of our faithful Blanket Angels, featured on NBC4 News on March 12. Don't miss this great story!

Pennsylvania fifth-graders make 55 blankets for local foster children
Fifth-graders in State College, Pennsylvania recently made 55 fleece blankets to be donated to children in foster care in their community.

The students from Spring Creek Elementary School raised funds for the blanket kits they purchased from MVOB by creating art for decorating mouse pads, ornaments, mugs and other objects. The fifth grade PTO fund also provided support.

“Our students were eager to make a difference for children in our community," said fifth grade teacher Leigh Schmeck.

We are very grateful for these young Blanket Angels and their teachers, carrying our mission far from Central Ohio.

From an article by Chris Rosenblum on the Spring Creek Elementary School website.

Foster Care Insight | www.fostermore.org
An excellent resource on foster care is www.fostermore.org. FosterMore is a coalition of businesses and organizations working to create greater understanding, empathy, and action to improve the future of youth in foster care.

A recent blog post features Lisa Joyner (shown at left), “a good influence in the foster care community.” A foster child herself, Lisa as an adult “has committed to helping foster youth in many ways including by helping reunite biological families that are separated by adoption or being placed into foster care.” Read more
New quilter donates her first creation to MVOB
This quilt was made by Sarah for children in foster care. Sarah's story reminds us that our blankets touch more people than the children for whom they are made.

This is my first quilt. I actually made this in a very unusual place. I knew how to sew but not how to quilt. I ended up in prison for some bad choices that I made. My job while I was there was making quilts for foster children. The program is called My Very Own Blanket. While I was there they let me make this. I hand quilted it, and it is made completely out of scraps that I found. I am very proud of this.
Thank you, Sarah, for the beautiful quilt.

We are proud that you are a Blanket Angel.
Blanket Angel Coordinators spread love across the U.S.
We are pleased to introduce Rachel, our Blanket Angel Volunteer Coordinator. She joined the MVOB volunteer team this year to provide a point of contact for our Blanket Angel Coordinators (BAC).

Serving as Blanket Angel Volunteer Coordinator gives her the opportunity to combine several of her favorite things: sewing and crafting, caring for children, and organizing. In this role, she will be the go-to contact for Blanket Angels across the country. Read more about Rachel

Our Blanket Angel Coordinators are supporters who want to help children in foster care feel valued, comforted and loved by providing handmade blankets to children in their area. Most live outside of Central Ohio, and they donate the blankets they make to children who live in their own area, spreading our mission and ministry across the country, far from our workshop in Westerville, Ohio. Blanket Angel Snapshots
We're grateful for Jack, a member of Lambda Phi fraternity at OSU, who made 22 blankets to earn fraternity service hours.
Connor, a very giving Scout, made 34 fleece blankets! And his mom added a beautiful purple blanket made from fleece scraps.
This Blanket Angel dropped off 36 blankets made by the members of her American Heritage Girls Troop 0031 at St. Patrick’s Church!
