Greetings SkyHawks!

  • Congratulations to our Varsity Girl's Volleyball team on their undefeated season and being named League Champs! Their first CIF playoff game is this Thursday at home. Let's pack the gym and cheer these awesome athletes on!


  • A special congrats to our Marching Band & Color Guard who earned top marks at their competition this weekend. Band earned 2nd place and Percussion earned 1st place! Way to go SkyHawks!


  • On Thursday, we will be participating in the Great California Shake Out at 10:20 AM. This is an annual, statewide earthquake drill that Summit participates in each year. Students and staff will drop, cover and hold. More info will be provided next week.  


  • Voting for our Homecoming King and Queen will be done this Wednesday and Thursday during both lunches in front of the MPR. Congratulations to all of our outstanding nominees! 


  • Friday, October 21st is our Homecoming Football Game starting at 7:00 PM at AB Miller. Our Homecoming Dance is on Saturday from 7:00 to 11:00 PM. Parents, we kindly ask that you start arriving at 10:45 PM to pick-up your students.  


  • Our next Coffee With The Principal will be on Friday, October 28th, at 9:00 AM in the MPR. Parents, I always look forward to meeting you, hearing your comments and answering any questions that you may have. We can’t spell “Summit” without “U”. I hope “U” can join us!  


  • Students, if you’re participating in the Fontana School Police Red Ribbon Week Essay and/or Video PSA Contest, please get your essay to your English teacher on Monday, October 17th. Essays are due to School Police on Monday, October 17th, before 4:00 PM. Videos are to be submitted on a thumb drive and need to be to School Police by Monday, October 24th.

There will no longer be any cash sales for any athletic events here at Summit. Football, Volleyball and Basketball games will now be cashless through GoFan. You can still pay cash for these games if you buy your tickets at the Bookkeeper's window up until the end of 2nd lunch on the day of the game, but no cash will be taken at the entrance going forward. QR codes will be posted at the entrances so that you may purchase tickets with a credit or debit card. You can also purchase tickets in advance online using the link on our Athletics website, www.fusd.net/summitathletics As always, if you have an ASB card, you get into all sporting events free! See you at the game!!!

Chaffey College Senior Early Transition Workshop

Attention Summit Seniors! If you are interested in attending Chaffey College after high school, or thinking about Chaffey as your backup, register for Chaffey College’s Senior Early Transition (SET) workshop. By participating in SET, you will receive priority registration, assistance with the Chaffey application, educational plan, and how to navigate MyChaffey Portal. The workshop is scheduled for Wednesday, October 26th, 2022 at 9:00 AM. Please scan the QR code or click on the link to register for the workshop.

Is the thought of how you will pay for college, university, or vocational school something that worries you? California is offering thousands of dollars in financial aid to eligible students. To learn more about the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the California Dream Act Application (CADAA) sign up for one of the upcoming webinars. College and Financial Aid Applications

Attention Seniors! The application window for CSU, UC, and FAFSA/CA Dream Act is now open. 


As a reminder, keep track of all the deadlines (UC/CSU schools, Private Colleges, scholarships, FAFSA/CA Dream Act), read the instructions, give sufficient time to recommenders to write your letter of recommendation, and provide all the requested information.


Your counselor is available by appointment to assist you with your college and/or financial aid application.


We will have a CSU Application Workshop Wednesday, October 19th from 1:30-3:30 PM. If you would like to attend please make sure to register. Sign up by October 17th. Please visit Mrs. Kiggins’ Linktree to access helpful resources.


Flight Training

Seniors, have you started working on your college applications? Are you stuck or unsure about specific areas of your college application? Flight Training is an opportunity for you to work with your counselor and receive assistance with your college applications.


Flight Training will be held October 24th- 28th.


Please check the Counselor’s TEAMS channel and your FUSD email for more information regarding Flight Training.


Chaffey Dual Enrollment

If you are interested in earning college credit as a high school student, you can do so by enrolling in Chaffey College’s Dual Enrollment program. This is open to all 9th-12th grade students. The classes you take at Chaffey College meet the A-G requirements for UC and CSU schools.

Enrollment for the Spring 2023 semester will begin on October 24th, 2022. For more information, please visit Chaffey’s Dual Enrollment website or stop by the counseling office.


FSA ID

Seniors, if you haven’t already done so create your FSA ID. The FSA ID (account username and password) allows students and parents to identify themselves electronically to access Federal Student Aid websites. It is also used to quickly sign your FAFSA application and have it processed. If you have questions, please visit studentaid.gov or visit the “Financial Aid” Teams Channel. 


College Application Day 2022 Event (November 15th, 2022)

College Application Day Celebration is to celebrate the milestone of applying to post-secondary education for the class of 2023. In order to participate you must:

  1. Apply to at least 1 Community College or 4-Year University. Ensure your counselor has had a chance to go through your college application (s) to check for mistakes before you submit.
  2. RSVP to the event no later than November 9th.
  3. Submit Proof you have applied to a Community College or 4-Year University no later than November 14th. (Screen shot with school and name viewable or email from the college).

Please let your counselor know if you have a financial situation that will prevent you from applying to a college no later than November 14th. It’s best if you can complete your application prior to the event.

  • Parents, if you need any help with Q Parent Connect, we are here to assist you! Please contact Tilly Mata, our Outreach Liaison, at (909) 357-5950 ext. 15122 and she’ll be happy to walk you through the processes.                 


  • We strongly encourage you to regularly check Parent Q to see your student’s progress. Parent Q provide access to view transcripts, daily attendance, grades, and test scores. Parents also have the option to update emergency contact information and medical information from their portal account. If you need a refresher course for Parent Q, please contact Tilly Mata, our Outreach Liaison, at (909) 357-5950 ext. 15122. She will be more than happy to assist you.
