COVID Vaccinations in Fluvanna
"When can I get my vaccine?"
"Where can I get my vaccine?"
"Am I on the list?"
"I'm 53 and have underlying health conditions. When I can I get my vaccine?"

I get your questions daily. And I so much want to be able to give you a day and a time that you can go and have that vaccination. Nothing about this pandemic has moved according to anyone's will, and things continue to change fast. There is much that I don't know.

But here's what I do know: opportunities are increasing for Fluvanna residents to receive a COVID vaccine.

If you want to receive a COVID vaccine, it is important that you are on the list. Not sure if you're on the list? Check here. Want to get on the list? Click here. The Blue Ridge Health Department (BRHD) uses the list to notify you when it is your turn to be vaccinated. So let's get to the how, when, and where.

How do I get the vaccine?
  • Virginia Department of Health (VDH)
  • Pre-register at vaccinate.virginia.gov or by calling 1-877-829-4682.
  • Verify your information - if you have already pre-registered, VDH would like for you to verify that they have your current contact information.
  • Answer your phone and check your email spam folder. It's important that you don't lose your place in line because the Health District can't reach you.
  • CVS - check vaccine availability and appointment times here.

When can I get the vaccine?
  • It depends. When you get your vaccine will depend on your eligibility and where you are on the list. Currently, the BRHD is vaccinating people in Phase 1a (essential health care workers), some Phase 1b essential workers, and individuals 65 years and older.
  • Vaccine availability is increasing. It's possible you could get a call one day letting you know you can get the vaccine two days later. Things are moving fast!
  • CVS Pharmacy provides online scheduling. If you meet eligibility requirements, you can check vaccine availability and reserve an available time in one visit.

Where can I get the vaccine?
  • Fluvanna residents who have received notification that it is their time to be vaccinated can get the vaccine by appointment only:
  • Carysbrook Gym, every Friday through May - given by BRHD staff/volunteers
  • Lake Monticello Fire & Rescue Maple Room - given by Jefferson Pharmacy pharmacists
  • BRHD will conduct pop-up clinics in Fluvanna as vaccine availability allows.
  • CVS Pharmacy - CVS is conducting its own vaccine clinics. This does not require pre-registration through Vaccinate Virginia. Residents must register directly with CVS and can do so here.

Take care friends and for a little while longer . . .
Stay safe, cover your face, and wash your hands.
And always . . .
spread kindness,
Kelly
